Before serving as the firm’s president, Mr. Vinyard excelled as the vice president and as an LPL financial adviser at Legacy Financial Consulting Services from 2019 to 2023. In this capacity, he provided comprehensive financial planning and investment management services, helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals. Mr. Vinyard’s stellar services and expert advice led to his subsequent success.
In addition to his role at Legacy Financial Consulting Services, Mr. Vinyard has served as the head of supervision at Momentum Wealth Partners since 2023. His role ensures compliance and operational excellence within the financial services organization based in New Jersey.
Mr. Vinyard’s diverse career and background previously included significant contributions to national defense. From 2016 to 2017, he served as an assistant program manager in the U.S. Department of Defense, supporting critical defense initiatives. He then became the assistant chief of staff at the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense.
Mr. Vinyard has also enjoyed a distinguished career in the military, marked by progressive leadership roles in the U.S. Army Reserve and the U.S. Army. Since 2020, he has held the rank of lieutenant colonel and has served as an instructor for the Command and General Staff Officers Course in the U.S. Army Reserve, shaping future military leaders through advanced education.
Having enlisted in 2005, Mr. Vinyard served as a platoon leader at Charlie Troop, 2-1 Cavalry in the 4-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Over the next 15 years, he advanced to platoon leader at Presidential Salute Battery within The Old Guard, executive officer at Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1-3 Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), company commander at Focused Targeting Force, and company commander at Alpha Company, 2-2 Infantry within the 3-1 Infantry Brigade Combat Team. Mr. Vinyard then became a troop commander at Asymmetric Warfare Group, the system chair for Army Test and Evaluation Command, and the chief of internal review for the 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), overseeing audit and compliance functions.
Highly educated, Mr. Vinyard earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Lindenwood University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Pennsylvania State University. He has since earned several prestigious credentials that underscore his commitment to professional excellence, including Series 7, Series 66 and Series 24 through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, program management certification through the U.S. Army Acquisition Support Center, and certification in wealth management through the American College of Financial Services. More recently, Mr. Vinyard received the certified financial planner credential from the CFP Board, a chartered retirement plans specialist professional designation from the College for Financial Planning, and a chartered financial consultant designation from the American College of Financial Services.
Mr. Vinyard’s expertise in finance is further evidenced by his active involvement in industry organizations. He presently maintains membership with Business Networking International, the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, the Financial Planning Association, and the Manufacturers and Business Association. Civically, Mr. Vinyard is recognized as a lifetime member of the Pennsylvania State University Alumni Association, is a member of The American Legion, and serves as a financial educator with the Association of Financial Educators. Furthermore, he contributes to community development as a member of the board of trustees for Erie Day School, as the vice president of internal relations for Young Erie Professionals, and as a committee member for Presque Isle State Park’s advisory committee.
Throughout his career, Mr. Vinyard has been recognized with several awards for his service, including a U.S. Army Commendation Medal for Valor, a Bronze Star for Valor, a Defense Meritorious Service Medal from the U.S. Department of Defense, and an Order of Saint Maurice from the U.S. Army. Looking ahead, he aims to continue excelling by expanding Legacy Financial Consulting Services, growing its service offerings, increasing team size and opening new offices in additional locations, further solidifying his impact on clients and communities alike.
