His responsibilities at the application platform include guiding the sales process for global customers, ensuring seamless customer experiences and supporting team members in understanding client histories and needs. Additionally, Mr. Byleveld reports directly to the chief executive officer and board on revenue growth and channel performance.
Among his many accomplishments at Journey Apps, Mr. Byleveld has introduced emerging technologies to enhance team efficiency, leveraged artificial intelligence (AI) to prevent customer churn, and implemented automated support processes to improve service delivery. He has also successfully built numerous high-performing teams during his tenure with the organization.
Apart from his work at JourneyApps, Mr. Byleveld co-founded a business in Stellenbosch, near Cape Town, South Africa. In its early years, he expanded the company by selling to markets across Africa, the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. In 2016, alongside several founders, he relocated the business to Colorado and established headquarters in Denver. Over the last decade, Mr. Byleveld has successfully built and expanded the company in the United States, navigating the complexities of immigration and adapting to a new environment.
Before settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mr. Byleveld established a distinguished career in his home country of South Africa, near Cape Town. He served as the chair of Infinity Rewards from 2010 to 2013, after initially serving as the turnaround chief executive officer between 2006 and 2009. He managed a challenging business turnaround for what was then a struggling rewards company, preparing it for sale.
Mr. Byleveld also excelled as the chief executive officer at mytcg Technologies, where he led efforts to secure key contracts and expand product offerings from 2010 to 2011. Among other positions, he served as the vice president of channel sales for Europe and Africa at FireID, as the vice president of the financial services technology division at Software Futures in Africa, and as the vice president of sales at Delos Technology within Software Futures.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Byleveld worked as a key account executive for integration solutions at Dimension Data, now NTT DATA Inc., beginning in 1999. He also served as a regional manager and architectural software specialist at Bentley Systems Inc. from 1997. Mr. Byleveld began his career as an architectural technology specialist with Coetzee & Associates in 1993, following formal training as an architect specializing in high-rise buildings and assisted living spaces.
Mr. Byleveld’s academic background includes ongoing coursework toward a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in artificial intelligence in business at the University of Cumbria. He also holds a higher national diploma in architecture from Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town. Further enhancing his credentials, Mr. Byleveld holds numerous professional qualifications, including a postgraduate qualification in artificial intelligence for leaders from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, a qualification in generative AI and prompt engineering for ChatGPT from Vanderbilt University, and, among others, an executive education instructor designation. Currently pursuing advanced studies in AI, Mr. Byleveld aims to integrate these technologies into revenue generation strategies for small and medium enterprises.
In light of his early success, Mr. Byleveld was recognized as Dimension Data’s Salesperson of the Year. He also received membership into The Inner Circle for outstanding sales achievements. Mr. Byleveld attributes his success to humility and attentive listening.
