In this capacity, he demonstrates expertise in project management by overseeing the full lifecycle of school renovation and development projects. Mr. Mitchell’s responsibilities include communicating with school principals, coordinating with Dallas Independent School District staff, such as contract managers and safety directors, and engaging directly with school staff to gather feedback.

His work encompasses implementing renovations, additions, and upgrades for educational facilities while maintaining regular communication through meetings and correspondence. By observing and assessing the unique needs of each school and project, Mr. Mitchell has significantly advanced educational infrastructure in his region.

Before joining Turner & Townsend Heery, Mr. Mitchell served as a development project manager at The Dimension Group in Dallas, a full-service architecture, civil engineering, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, and planning firm, from 2022 to 2024. In this position, he was responsible for managing commercial development projects for one of the largest retail clients globally. Mr. Mitchell’s leadership facilitated the successful execution of complex initiatives that required both technical acumen and strong interpersonal skills.

From 2019 to 2022, Mr. Mitchell was an associate project manager at Kleinfelder, a San Diego-based civil engineering firm. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in business development and collaborated on proposals for school districts, which solidified his expertise in the educational sector and ignited his passion for working within it.

Hired by Kleinfelder in 2017, Mr. Mitchell spent two years as an environmental sampling and remediation systems professional. In this role, he gained hands-on experience in environmental engineering, including site assessments and remediation efforts to address complex environmental challenges. Mr. Mitchell’s early professional journey began as an engineering intern at the Office of the County Engineer in Harris County in 2015, where he supported civil engineering projects that enhanced public infrastructure.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Mitchell is dedicated to civic engagement and community service. Since 2019, he has volunteered with North Texas Food Bank, supporting efforts to address food insecurity across the region. He is also an active member of the Texas Young Professionals of Dallas and the Association of Rice University Black Alumni. Throughout his career, Mr. Mitchell has been recognized for his commitment to professional growth and industry engagement. As a testament to his leadership within the academic community, he was recently named an alum ambassador for the Western Governors University Alumni Program in 2025.

Mr. Mitchell attributes much of his success to foundational values instilled by influential mentors throughout his life. He also values the supportive upbringing provided by his parents, a foundation that enabled him to excel academically and athletically while focusing on personal growth during childhood. Looking ahead, Mr. Mitchell is committed to fostering opportunities for his own children similar to those he experienced growing up.
