Carolyn Violet Peck Mulligan, regional quality assurance director at DHL Supply Chain, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in quality assurance and logistics.
Ms. Mulligan has established herself as a leading expert in logistics quality assurance and service quality, currently serving as a regional quality assurance director at DHL Supply Chain, the world’s largest contract logistics specialist. In this capacity since 2020, she manages approximately 25 sites, oversees contractual key performance indicators, and travels extensively to conduct site assessments and implement action plans.
Among numerous responsibilities in her leading role, Ms. Mulligan is tasked with setting annual sector objectives, planning strategies tailored to each location, and overseeing both the quality management system and the training management system. She also ensures trade compliance and is responsible for technical writing for new sites, including process mapping, standard operating procedures, work instructions and training documentation. Additionally, Ms. Mulligan authors regional documents on new methods or processes, conducts weekly one-on-one meetings with direct reports and facilitates training sessions focused on problem-solving.
Among Ms. Mulligan’s most significant professional achievements was the design of a comprehensive training guide titled “Quality Essentials for All Leadership.” This guide was implemented company-wide, integrating leaders from across the organization into the quality program and underscoring its importance. Ms. Mulligan has also excelled in fostering exceptional collaboration between quality and operations teams across all her sites.
Ms. Mulligan’s career at DHL Supply Chain began as a field quality manager from 2021 to 2023. Before her tenure at the organization, she built a robust foundation at XPO Logistics, where she worked for over a decade. Ms. Mulligan spent her first two years at XPO as a customer service representative in Joliet, Illinois. She then served as an office administrator in Manteno, Illinois, from 2012 to 2014, followed by her role as planning manager and customer service supervisor until 2016. Ms. Mulligan spent her last five years with the organization as a quality assurance manager for supply chain operations back in Joliet, where she led efforts to enhance product integrity and customer satisfaction through rigorous process controls.
In addition to her corporate roles, Ms. Mulligan has contributed to higher education as an adjunct professor at Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska, since 2025. Her own academic background has been integral to her career progression. Ms. Mulligan’s educational journey began with an associate degree in English and teaching, graduating with highest honors from Joliet Junior College in 2009. She followed that by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in business management and finance, graduating magna cum laude from Lewis University in 2014. Ms. Mulligan returned to Lewis University to earn a Master of Business Administration in project management and supply chain management in 2022. She has been certified as a facilitator for Lean Six Sigma courses through DHL Supply Chain, further enhancing her ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
Ms. Mulligan’s commitment to professional development has been reflected in her membership with Women in Supply Chain, an organization dedicated to advancing women’s leadership within the logistics sector. Beyond her professional life, she volunteers with the Girl Scouts of the United States of America through a partnership with DHL Supply Chain, leading supply chain workshops. She previously contributed to organizations such as the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, St. Joseph Catholic Church and the New Lenox Girls Softball Association.
Ms. Mulligan’s excellence has been recognized with several honors, including receiving the We Care Award for exemplary quality internal customer service in 2024. She attributes much of her success to the encouragement of her mother and grandmother, as well as the unwavering support of her husband and their four children.
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Mulligan is a loving wife, mother to four and grandmother to one. When not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys attending musicals, plays and concerts, cooking, and traveling. Looking ahead, Ms. Mulligan aspires to advance to a regional director position within her organization while expanding her mentorship, leveraging her extensive background and expertise to support growth among her colleagues.
