Michael P. Rother, Director at InfraGard National Members Alliance Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Industrial Relations and Public-Private Sector Collaboration.
Mr. Rother has established a distinguished career marked by leadership in public-private sector relations, industrial relations and civic engagement. As the director and board member of InfraGard National Members Alliance Inc. since 2020, he manages finance and budgeting while developing strategic relationships with public-private organizations across the FBI’s 16 critical infrastructures, including the National Defense Transportation Association. Mr. Rother’s expertise in building, maintaining and strengthening these vital connections has been widely recognized.
In addition to his current directorship, Mr. Rother is the founder and principal of Rother Consulting in St. Louis, Missouri, a role he has held since 2014. Through this consultancy, he has provided guidance to major energy and industrial clients, including Ameren Keokuk Hydroelectric Power Plant, CHS/Cenex Laurel Refinery, Anheuser-Busch Companies LLC, Big River Zinc Corporation and Ethyl Corporation, to name a few. Mr. Rother’s work on turbine overhaul projects at the Ameren Keokuk Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Ameren Taum Sauk Energy Center further demonstrates his technical acumen.
Mr. Rother’s tenure as a lead construction supervisor consultant at Keokuk Energy Center for Ameren Services from 2020 to 2023 notably involved overseeing complex energy infrastructure projects. He also served as the lead construction supervisor consultant at Ameren Rush Island and Meramec Energy Centers in 2019 and 2020 and as a construction supervisor consultant for Ameren Services in the greater St. Louis area during 2018 and 2019. These roles required advanced project management skills and a deep understanding of industrial operations.
From 2015 to 2018, Mr. Rother worked as a business development manager at Scheck in Westmont, Illinois, where he expanded business opportunities within the industrial sector. Before that, he was the corporate director of contracts, industrial relations and security at Prairie State Energy Campus in Marissa, Illinois, from 2008 to 2014. During this period, he played a pivotal role in the successful completion of the historic $4 billion Prairie State Generating Company’s 1,600 megawatt supercritical coal-fired power plant project. Mr. Rother’s leadership in industrial relations was instrumental to the project’s success.
Mr. Rother’s earlier positions, dating back to 1974, included roles with companies such as the Phillips Getschow Company, Corrigan Company and Brooks Construction. He also worked for Strange and Coleman Inc. and HBE Hospital Building & Equipment Company. When he first started, he was hired as a project engineer at Peter Kiewit & Sons (now Kiewit Corporation) in Omaha, Nebraska.
Parallel to his corporate career, Mr. Rother founded Mike’s Taekwondo Academy in St. Louis in 1994, where he continues as a master instructor. He previously served as the president and master instructor of Mike’s Taekwondo Academy of Martial Arts until 2014. Mr. Rother’s dedication to martial arts education has had a profound impact on youth development, making him instrumental in addressing children’s behavioral challenges and achieving transformative outcomes.
Mr. Rother has held a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology) since 1974. He is also a graduate of the InfraGard National Leadership Academy at the FBI, Quantico, an FBI Citizens Academy graduate through the FBI Springfield division, and a graduate of the St. Louis County Police Citizens Academy.
Mr. Rother’s professional and civic affiliations are extensive. Beyond his primary work as the director of the InfraGard National Members Alliance Inc., he is a board member, partnership committee chair, vice chair of the budget and finance committee, and president and chief executive officer. He is also a board member of the FBI Springfield Citizens Academy Alumni Association and a member of the West Chester Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association. He is further recognized as an honorary active member of Boilermakers Local Lodge No. 363 and an honorary active member of Steamfitters Local 439.
Among other affiliations, Mr. Rother is active with the National Defense Transportation Association, the FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association, the United States National Taekwondo Federation (now USA Taekwondo), the United States Martial Arts Association (now the USA Martial Arts Federation), and the Southwestern Illinois Leadership Council. As a writer, he has contributed to thought leadership articles such as “A Lesson in Leadership and Respect,” “Sticking to your Discipline Strategy,” and “Coach’s Need to Appreciate Every Player,” all published on The Richard Paul Blog.
Throughout his career, Mr. Rother has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including a Master Instructor of the Year by the U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2002, a Dedication and Loyalty Award from Boilermaker Local No. 27 Training School, awarded 2008, an Outstanding Service and Dedication Award from Great Lakes Area Boilermakers Apprenticeship Program, also awarded in 2008, and an the Outstanding Leadership Award from InfraGard National Members Alliance Inc. Mr. Rother was also inducted into the U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2002 and 2014.
Mr. Rother attributes his achievements to the values instilled by his parents. Looking ahead, he plans to seek elected office, with aspirations that include serving in city government or state administration, or potentially leading InfraGard National Members Alliance Inc. as president once again. He is supported by his spouse, with whom he shares two children, reflecting a commitment not only to professional excellence but also to family values, community service and personal growth throughout every facet of life.
