Mr. Brumskill has built a notable career in aviation, spanning more than three decades and marked by a reputation for excellence. Since 2025, he has served as a 737 first officer at Miami International Airport for American Airlines, upholding the company’s rigorous standards for safety and passenger service. Mr. Brumskill’s expertise in aviation is widely recognized, and his commitment to operational excellence continues to set a high bar within the industry.

Before joining American Airlines, Mr. Brumskill held the position of captain on the 737 with Aloha Air Cargo in 2025. In this capacity, he was responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transport of cargo throughout the Honolulu region of Hawaii, demonstrating both leadership and technical proficiency.

Mr. Brumskill initially worked for Aloha Air Cargo from 2015 to 2019 as a B-737 check airman and captain. He also performed duties as a Part 121 check airman, captain and first officer during this period. In these roles, Mr. Brumskill was instrumental in training and evaluating pilots, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policies.

From 2020 to 2025, Mr. Brumskill served as a captain on the B-767 for Northern Air Cargo, headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska. His tenure was characterized by his ability to manage complex flight operations and maintain high standards of safety and reliability across diverse routes.

In 2015, Mr. Brumskill contributed his expertise as a civilian flight instructor at Midfield Aviation, where he taught aspiring pilots and helped shape the next generation of aviators. Beyond commercial and military roles, he had the opportunity to serve as a stunt pilot for the 2019 Netflix original film “Triple Frontier.”

Mr. Brumskill’s professional journey is deeply rooted in his military service. He dedicated 25 years to the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 2014. From 1989 to 2014, he served as the worldwide air refueling chief for standardization and evaluation operations, playing a pivotal role in several major military campaigns, including Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Northern Watch, Southern Watch, and missions in Bosnia and Kosovo. Following September 11, Mr. Brumskill remained active in operations, such as Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

During his military service, Mr. Brumskill was also recognized as a C-9 evaluator, instructor and aircraft commander for the U.S. Air Force for five years, beginning in 1997. Notably, he flew distinguished visitors on missions out of Europe, including First Lady Hillary Clinton, Senators John McCain and Joe Lieberman, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Secretary of Defense William Cohen and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, demonstrating exceptional skill and discretion.

Mr. Brumskill’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in American civilization from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, completed in 1988, followed by a master’s degree in adult education from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, earned in 2002. During his undergraduate studies, he played Division I baseball and football and was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year in football as a freshman. Mr. Brumskill’s professional credentials include numerous Federal Aviation Administration certifications, including aircraft flight instructor, airline transport pilot and commercial privileges. Additionally, he obtained a restricted radiotelephone operator permit from the Federal Communications Commission.

Active outside of his primary career objectives, Mr. Brumskill is a member of the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, the Tuskegee Airmen and the Airlift/Tanker Association. These affiliations reflect his commitment to advancing diversity and excellence within aviation. Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Brumskill is committed to civic engagement, serving as a contributor to Wounded Warriors, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and various other cancer charities.

Mr. Brumskill’s achievements have been recognized through numerous awards, including a Wing Level Award and a Unit Level Award from the U.S. Air Force. He attributes his success to his faith and the unwavering support and guidance of his parents.

Looking ahead, Mr. Brumskill aims to conclude his aviation career by age 65 and leave a legacy for his children and grandchildren. He is dedicated to continuing his spiritual journey toward becoming a better person, striving to spread the gospel while fostering unity so that America and the global community may become more compassionate, inclusive societies.
