Ms. Dorey has distinguished herself as a leading figure in the real estate industry, particularly in Upper Bucks County and the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. As a broker and owner of Carol C. Dorey Real Estate Inc. since 1977, she has built a reputation for representing the region’s most prestigious homes, farms and estates.
Over nearly five decades, Ms. Dorey has established her company as the premier office for handling properties in the top 20% of the market, consistently achieving dominance in an area with 820 real estate offices and more than 7,000 agents. Her expertise in selling residential homes valued at $300,000 or more has also become widely recognized. In 2022, Ms. Dorey’s team of 12 agents accounted for over 25% of all sales above $700,000 in their territory. For properties sold for more than $1 million, her agents listed 45% of those transactions. Notably, among the top 20 most expensive properties sold in the Lehigh Valley area that year, Ms. Dorey’s office represented 85% of those sales.
Before founding her own firm, Ms. Dorey contributed her skills at Rodale Press, where she leveraged her background in marketing, advertising and publicity. After the birth of her first child and her husband’s decision to open a real estate office, she divided her time between Rodale Press and assisting with the new business. Ultimately, Ms. Dorey chose to focus on real estate full time.
Ms. Dorey’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in commercial art from Finch College in New York City, earned in 1963. Her education provided a creative perspective that has informed her approach to marketing luxury properties and building a distinctive brand identity for her firm. Additionally, Ms. Dorey holds both real estate and broker licenses.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Dorey is actively involved in civic and cultural organizations, such as the Allentown Symphony Association and the Kress Society at the Allentown Art Museum. She also serves on the board of the Palisades Community Foundation and supports numerous fundraisers and charities that benefit arts and music initiatives. Ms. Dorey’s commitment extends to sponsoring events and supporting mural programs in local schools.
Ms. Dorey considers her most notable accomplishment to be establishing a strong reputation in the industry by managing and successfully selling high-end property listings throughout her career. A hallmark of her success has been her collaboration with a dedicated team of highly skilled real estate professionals. Many of these agents have worked together for an average of 20 years, fostering an environment where individual approaches are respected and teamwork is paramount. This collaborative spirit has been instrumental in maintaining the firm’s leadership position in a competitive market.
Ms. Dorey was recognized with a nomination for Woman of the Year by the American Biographical Institute. Her legacy is defined by mentorship and service. Looking toward the future, she aims to continue delivering white-glove service within an industry she observes is becoming increasingly impersonal each year. She also aspires to be remembered as someone who helps clients move forward with ease during pivotal moments.
