Mr. Powell’s distinguished career spans more than four decades, marked by progressive leadership and expertise across multiple industries. Since 1981, he has worked at Concho Supply, Inc., also known as CSI, in San Angelo, Texas, where he is the executive vice president and part owner. His tenure at the company began with foundational roles as a general warehouse worker and delivery driver, quickly advancing through positions in shipping and receiving, assistant order processing and order processing management. Demonstrating a keen aptitude for operations and logistics, Mr. Powell was promoted to assistant warehouse manager. Subsequently, he took on responsibilities as assistant purchasing manager and information technology and communications manager.

By the mid-1980s, Mr. Powell had established himself as a purchasing manager and assistant operations manager at CSI, further honing his skills in inventory control and corporate management. In 1997, he achieved one of his most significant professional milestones by becoming a part owner of Concho Supply, Inc., a role that stands as his proudest accomplishment. Mr. Powell continued to ascend within the organization, serving as an operations manager, assistant vice president, branch manager, vice president and vice president of the board of directors. His financial stewardship included acting as a financial guarantor for the company’s operations loan.

CSI is a full-service automotive parts warehouse distributor serving customers throughout Central, North and West Texas. The company has one of the largest inventories of automotive parts in the state and offers competitive prices, specializing in ACDelco and Motorcraft parts. Headquartered in San Angelo, Texas, CSI offers six locations and is open seven days per week.

In addition to his primary role at Concho Supply, Inc., Mr. Powell has maintained an active presence in ranching and ranchland management throughout his life, beginning during his youth. His expertise extends to oil and gas land management since 1963 and commercial property management since 1997. Recently, Mr. Powell became an investor at Roadrunner Management LLC in San Angelo in 2025. These diverse experiences have contributed to his reputation as an authority across several sectors. Mr. Powell also spent about a decade in real estate management and was an operations manager at Plateau Brewing Company in San Angelo for over 40 years, from 1981 to 2022.

Mr. Powell’s academic background includes a diploma from Tivy High School in Kerrville, Texas, in 1976. Subsequently, he earned an Associate of Arts in agriculture, business administration and management from Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde, Texas, in 1987. He also completed coursework in agriculture management, general business and computer science at Angelo State University in San Angelo in 1981. Furthering his expertise, Mr. Powell pursued continuing education in business law.

Mr. Powell’s influence extends beyond his business endeavors through his involvement with industry organizations, such as the National Pronto Association, now The Pronto Network, where he has contributed to both the computer and technology committee for National Pronto and the computer and technology committee for Digital Management Technology. He is also recognized as a member of several prominent associations, including the San Antonio Livestock Association and the American Home Brewers Association. Additionally, Mr. Powell was elected to the Texas FFA Association, a student-led leadership development organization established for students of agricultural education, with a Lone Star FFA Degree, the highest degree of membership. Civically, he is affiliated with the National Rifle Association, the Brewers Association and the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society. He is also active with Holy Angels Catholic Church in San Angelo.

Mr. Powell’s excellence was recognized early on with inclusion in Who’s Who of American High School Students in 1976. He was also named to the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1982.

Throughout his educational journey, Mr. Powell demonstrated leadership by taking initiative both academically and within extracurricular activities, attributes that have shaped his approach to team motivation and organizational success. He credits hard work, along with foundational skills developed through family businesses, ranching activities and leadership roles during college, as central to his achievements.

Through steadfast leadership across multiple sectors, Mr. Powell has established a legacy defined by resilience, adaptability and commitment to excellence within both professional circles and his broader community. Looking ahead, he intends to continue expanding Concho Supply, Inc., while maintaining its tradition of consistent growth despite market fluctuations or changes in company locations over time.
