Accruing 60 years of professional experience, Mr. McIlvaine has excelled as the president and owner of Photo-Crystals Co., an electronics company, since 1965. Initially showing his prowess as a general manager in 1965, he subsequently took on his executive-level roles, having since continued to lead the company to success for the past 56 years. In addition to his primary endeavor, Mr. McIlvaine has also been the owner and founder of McIlvaine Electronic Security Systems Inc. since 1972 and of the McIlvaine Construction Co. since 1975. Notably, in 2001, he co-created Mac/Men Corp. to facilitate his various inventions, including an advanced All Weather Wind Turbine to operate from five to 175 miles per hour. In the earlier years of his career, he was a technical engineer with Energy Kontrols, Inc., a partner of Mid-Valley Service Co. and a part-time police officer in Valley View, Illinois between 1960 and 1979.
Finding great success throughout the course of his career, Mr. McIlvaine has been the recipient of various awards and accolades spanning four decades. In 2009, he was granted a Letter of Appreciation from Mayor Don P. DeWitte, a Certificate of Appreciation for 50 Years of Service from the St. Charles Emergency Management Agency and a Certificate of Support from the U.S. Olympic Committee for Victory in Vancouver, as well as named Donor of the Year by Help Hospitalized Veterans. In the early 2000s, he was the recipient of the Key Person Award and a Certificate for 45 Years of Services from Mayor Susan Klinkhamer, a Letter of Recognition from President George W. Bush and the Republican National Committee and a Certificate of Achievement from the Federal Emergency Management Institute.
Presently, Mr. McIlvaine holds membership with the Willys-Overland-Knight Registry, National Fire Protection Association, Kane County Farm Bureau, Northern Illinois Steam Power Club, National Rifle Association of America and Brittanica Society. He is also a life member of President Ronald Reagan’s Republican Presidential Task Force, National Geographic Society, International Tesla Society and League of American Bicyclists. He attributes the vast success of his career to his dad, Oran, and his uncle, A.J. Hubert. To attest to his legacy Mr. McIlvaine can also be found in the 24th and 25th editions of Who’s Who In Finance and Industry and the first edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America. In his spare time, he enjoys bike riding, swimming and skiing.
