Since 1994, Ms. Robinson has prospered as president and chief executive officer of SLR Consulting Group LLC, a national consulting firm dedicated to helping nonprofits of all types and sizes with the specialized assistance needed to form sustainable organizations, achieve financial stability, meet organizational goals and support greater mission impact. Services provided by the company include grant writing, strategic planning, capacity building, staff training, workshop and retreat facilitation and executive coaching. In addition, Ms. Robinson has provided superior service since 2021 as an assistant professor with American International Theism University in Englewood, Florida.
Previously, Ms. Robinson flourished with the New York City Department of Education from 2001 t0 2019 in numerous positions that included dean of the middle school program in Region 10; technology coordinator; director of youth development, safety, suspensions and attendance; and climate and culture manager.
Following obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 1988 from Baruch College in New York, Ms. Robinson followed with a Bachelor of Science in organizational management in 1992 from Nyack College and a Master of Science in nonprofit management in 1996 from the New School in New York. She continued her education with a Master of Education in education administration and supervision in 2006 from Baruch College and a DBA in nonprofit and public organizations in 2021 from American International Theism University.
Ms. Robinson attributes her achievements in consulting to her 25-year career in education administration with the New York City Department of Education, having supervised two school districts in the Bronx by the time she retired. The experience not only honed her skills and talents as an administrator, but also allowed her to teach in university as an associate professor, which she thoroughly enjoys. She is also cognizant of the indispensable guidance and support of her parents, especially her father, who sternly emphasized the importance of acquiring education.
Ms. Robinson is most proud of being able to assist more than 500 startup non-profit organizations get off the ground. In the coming years, she hopes to reach full professorship status and also would like to continue to build and establish her business.
