Marie-Louise Burkle

Title: Chief Executive Officer
Company: Autac, Inc.
Location: North Branford, Connecticut, United States

Marie-Louise Burkle, Chief Executive Officer at Autac, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in manufacturing management.

In 1995, Ms. Burkle obtained an Associate of Science in entrepreneurship from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. In addition, she participated in the Women’s Leadership Program at Yale School of Management. Since 1999, she has provided superior service as chief executive officer of Autac, Inc., a premier international manufacturing firm of power and control cables with a specialization in retractile cords, a firm her father founded in 1947.

In the 1980s, Ms. Burkle excelled as an award-winning marketing expert in the automotive industry while working with local dealerships and consulting for petroleum-based businesses, as well as marketing and sponsorship promotion for local and regional NASCAR affiliated teams. From 1995 to 1999, she taught automotive technology and ran the DECA Program at Cape Cod Technical High School.

In addition to heading Autac, Inc. Ms. Burkle has also prospered as founder and president of Dragonfly Holistics since 2007, a leading manufacturer of products for chemical-free living that retails high-quality teas and operates a wellness center in Killingworth, Connecticut. The primary focus of her wellness practice are clients suffering from chronic health conditions with a major focus on tick-borne illnesses.

Ms. Burkle maintains that her strongest skill set is in adaptation, entrepreneurship, and being able to understand that a business is a living changing organism. The advantage of Autac, Inc. being a small business is that every time circumstances change, the firm is easily able to readapt their business model to meet current circumstances, which is not an easy thing to do for the larger corporations. Having that entrepreneurial mindset as opposed to a profit-related mindset makes it a little easier to adapt.

When Ms. Burkle was in college, it was brought to her attention that Carnegie School of Business requires that all their students take a stand-up comedy class to learn to be more comfortable with public speaking. As early as kindergarten, she said to herself that she wanted to try comedy someday. Back in 2005, she signed up for the Comedy School of Manhattan and ultimately performed at Caroline’s on Broadway. It helped her to be much more comfortable in public speaking situations. The thing she is proudest of is that she continues to pursue education and continues to pay for her employees to pursue education to help promote themselves. She never rests on her laurels.

In the coming years, Ms. Burkle is hoping to double her number of employees with Autac, Inc. and intends to triple sales. She is hoping to hand off responsibilities in running the company on a daily basis so that she will be able to turn her full focus on promoting Autac through public speaking, pursuing keynote speaking roles, and using her expertise to promote her company on a national level.
