Donald Osgood, Senior Program Manager at Boston Public Health Commission, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in public service.
Mr. Osgood pursued coursework in accounting from 1988 to 1989 at Bay State College in Boston and later obtained a diploma in theology from Berea College in Kentucky. He provided superior service as a retail sales associate from 1998 to 2000 and subsequently as a general manager with Jiffy Lube from 2004 to 2012, in which his responsibilities included overseeing daily operations such as payroll, work schedules, daily expense reports and inventory; ordering supplies for maximum productivity; interviewing and hiring staff.
Desirous of improving conditions in his community, Mr. Osgood excelled as a street worker with Street Safe Boston from 2013 to 2015, in which he helped stop street violence by counseling individuals of risk. As a violence interrupter and trauma specialist for the City of Boston from 2015 to 2018, he responded to victims of violent crimes at area hospitals, supported the families of victims, worked with the hospital and security, connected victims and family with social workers and street workers to follow them through their rehabilitation and healing while assisting them in many areas of their lives. He has served as a volunteer facilities manager for the Massachusetts Community Outreach Initiative from 2011 to 2020 and as a senior program manager for the Boston Public Health Commission since the latter year.
Mr. Osgood has further aided his community spiritually, as a servant leader with Morning Star Baptist Church in Mattapan, Massachusetts from 1999 to 2012 and as senior pastor with GateWay Ministries in Boston from 2013 to the present. He was a mayoral candidate for the city of Boston in 2017 and a senatorial candidate for Massachusetts in 2018.
Mr. Osgood is most proud of his seven children and also proud of his work in the community as a servant leader and a public servant, because everything that he does is for his children and for other people’s children so they can have a better future. In the coming years, he hopes to either be leading an established organization or build an organization that strives for the betterment of the lives of the children and the youth in the community. He is looking forward to running for senator or governor, so he can initiate policies that will help the community.
