Valbrun Almonord, Legislative and Political Coordinator at American Federation of Government Employees, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in podiatric surgery and government service.
Hailing from Haiti, Dr. Almonord initially obtained an Associate of Arts from LaGuardia Community College in Queens, New York and followed with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hunter College in 1977. After graduating from Hunter College, he joined the U.S. Army and served in reserve for nine years. He continued his education with a Medical Doctor in 1983 from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, now known as the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. He later earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Management at Troy University in Alabama in 2002 and a certificate in sustaining base leadership and management from Army Management Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Dr. Almonord practiced as a podiatric surgeon in medically under-served areas as a civilian federal employee in the Military Health Care System with the U.S. Air Force and United States Army and with the National Health Service Corps After over three decades of such service he currently serves as the legislative and political coordinator for the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 54, Fort Benning, Georgia. In 2022, he was running as a Democrat in the 3rd Congressional District in Georgia.
Dr. Almonord has served as legislative and political coordinator with the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE); as vice-chair of the Muscogee County Democratic Committee; as chair of the Outreach Committee of Muscogee County; and as a Muscogee County Delegate for the Democratic Party of Georgia. His civic and professional memberships include the American Legion and National Association of Federal Employees.
Dr. Almonord attributes his success to hard work and not being afraid of obstacles. He considers his greatest professional achievement to be serving the people as a physician and podiatric surgeon, and in the coming years is hoping to serve as a United States Representative in Congress.
