In addition to these positions, he has worked as an enterprise information architect for PenFed Credit Union from 2015 to 2019, an enterprise data architect for Navy Federal Credit Union from 2012 to 2015, an enterprise architect for MCS Technologies LLC from 2011 to 2012, a solutions architect for Bank of America from 2010 to 2011 and an enterprise architect for General Dynamics Information Technology in 2010. Mr. Mbu also formerly served as the chief enterprise architect for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board from 2004 to 2008 and an information technology strategist for architecture and technology assessments for the U.S. Government from 2007 to 2008.
Moreover, Mr. Mbu was recruited by AOL Time Warner as a systems architect from 2001 to 2005 and an enterprise architect from 2003 to 2005. He was also active as the founder and president of MCS Technologies from 1995 to 1997 and an enterprise architect for User Technology Associates from 1995 to 1999. A former oil company chemist during his time in Africa, Mr. Mbu previously began his career as a system analyst for Volkswagon in 1993 before advancing to the position of a supervisor for sales and stock reporting from 1993 to 1995.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Mbu pursued an education at the College of Arts, Science, and Technology of the University of London, from which he obtained a GCE with Advanced Levels in geology, chemistry and biology in 1977. He concluded his studies at Wayne State University in 1986, having graduated with a Bachelor of Science in geology with a minor in computer science. Furthermore, Mr. Mbu has earned a number of certifications from AXELOS Global Best Practice, the ITIL Foundation and APMG International between 2012 and 2014.
Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Mbu has been affiliated with the Data Management Association and MECA USA, of which he was distinguished as president from 1982 to 1990. In light of his exceptional undertakings, he was presented with the Father of the African Diaspora Award in 2012. Looking toward the future, Mr. Mbu hopes to complete his book regarding his African heritage in Cameroon while dedicating his spare time to his six wonderful children, which includes NFL player Joey Mbu.
