Since 2021, Mr. Richardson has found much success as co-founder and chief executive officer of Zip NOLA, a premier tour company providing zipline rides in their facility in LaPlace, Louisiana over Maurepas Swamp, Lake Pontchartrain, the historic town of Frenier and the New Orleans skyline, with clients using ziplines, riding a cable from one point to another using a harness, helmet and pulley, one of the fastest growing recreational activities in the United States. Zip NOLA clients can take in breathtaking sights of moss covered cypress swamp, while they also view the many wildlife that frequent the area that include alligators and snowy egrets.
M r. Richardson obtained a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering in 2015 from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. After graduating from LSU, he had a job lined up as a drilling engineer in Houston, and then he started to open a fishing charter service called Fury Outfitters, and then developed it into his own swamp tour until conceiving of the world’s first only swamp zipline. He also got into the airboat business and started his own booking agency. Today, he handles day to day operations at Zip NOLA that include business acquisition, group sales and marketing.
Mr. Richardson attributes his success to the fact that his mind never sleeps. He is always trying to innovate. Knowing his limitations, he also tries to improve on them. While his children are certain number on the list of Mr. Richardson’s greatest achievement, the zipline was the most notable and the project where he has seen the most adversity that include recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic and rebuilding from Hurricane Ida in 2021. He is looking forward to growing and diversifying his business in the coming years.
