From 2002 to 2019, he was the owner of Investors’ Security Trust and from 1983 to 2002, he was the president and chief executive officer of SunTrust Banks, Inc. in southwest Florida. Prior to this, he served as the executive vice president for SunTrust from 1980 to 1983. He earned a bachelor’s degree of banking and finance from the University of Georgia in 1971 and a master’s degree in finance from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
Mr. Idelson is an active member of his community and serves on several boards, including United Way, Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation and several others. He was previously featured in Who’s Who Millennium Magazine. In the next few years, he plans to spend more time traveling. He attributes his professional success to hard work.
