Having accumulated over three decades of experience, Mr. Varughese is a proven leader in the field of executive business strategy. Specializing in business transformation, he joined Funko in 2022 as the vice president of global enterprise applications. In his role, Mr. Varughese oversees all technological operations, content roadmaps, and strategy pertaining to technology and how it will propel the company forward.
Prior to joining Funko, Mr. Varughese accrued a wealth of experience in a number of executive positions. From 2017 to 2021, he operated as the group vice president of PVH Asia IT, part of PVH Corp., which he originally joined in 2015, serving as a vice president in global financial systems and SAP. He also worked as a vice president in global corporate systems for Ralph Lauren between 2014 and 2015, having originally joined in 2011 as the senior director of financial and supplier relationship management. Mr. Varughese worked extensively with Ann Inc. from 2005 to 2011, originally joining as a manager in financial management systems and rising to the position of director for SAP COE prior to leaving the company.
Mr. Varughese began his career in 1990, working as a programmer and analyst for British Airways until 1993. He remained with the airline company until 2000, having achieved the position of team lead for projects and desktops. Before embarking on his vocational journey, he pursued a formal education, beginning with his time at Hofstra University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science in 1990. Mr. Varughese subsequently continued his studies at the University of Phoenix, where he received a Master of Business Administration in accounting in 2006.
Well regarded for his consummate professionalism and numerous accomplishments in the field, Mr. Varughese has been honored with several accolades and awards over the course of his career. To wit, he received the Ones To Watch Award and a Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Award in 2020. In light of his fulfilling career, he attributes much of his success to his late father, who served as a stalwart mentor and constant source of inspiration. In the coming years, Mr. Varughese aims to become the global chief information officer of a major company, and he hopes to teach students before he eventually retires.
