With more than 10 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Tian has excelled as the research director for Beijing Qiansong Tech Development Co., Ltd. since 2018. During this time, he has obtained two patents in his field as well as a Beijing Overseas Talents Center Award. Prior to his present position, he served as a legal intern with Thomson Reuters in Eagan, Minnesota, from 2015 to 2017. Mr. Tian began his career as an electronic health record consultant with Technical Consulting & Research, Inc. in Weston, Connecticut, from 2011 to 2013.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Tian pursued an education at China Pharmaceutical University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in biotechnology in 2009. He continued his academic efforts with a Master of Science in biology at New York University in 2011. He concluded his studies at the University of Minnesota Law School, graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, in 2016. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Tian became licensed as an attorney in the state of New York in 2018.
Beyond his primary responsibilities within the field, Mr. Tian has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate vocational circles. In addition to his work in law and technology development, he has been active as a filmmaker, having accrued accolades from global competitions and independent film festivals for his 2014 short film, “Lost in New York.” He previously found success with his written works, having authored a number of conference papers for publications such as the IEEE Journal. Furthermore, Mr. Tian has been affiliated with the New York State Bar Association, the IEEE, the American Bar Association and One Thousand Writers, the latter of which he had contributed to as a volunteer between 2015 and 2017.
Mr. Tian was drawn to his areas of expertise after learning about the different philosophies between the U.S. and China in terms of the animal law, which inspired him to combine biology and the law within his professional ambitions. Among the many highlights of his career, he is incredibly proud of garnering the aforementioned patents and witnessing his articles published in the IEEE Journal. Looking toward the future, Mr. Tian hopes to experience the faster development of science while providing his wealth of knowledge to the legal regulation of new scientific research, data security, and medical sciences.
