Passionate about fostering the growth and well-being of his local community, Mr. Dye excels as the chief executive officer of the Detroit Magic Child Development, a role which he commenced in 1998. Detroit Magic Child Development is a non-profit youth organization that provides eight-week spring, summer and fall programs in organized sports and academic programs. Serving the communities in the Metro Detroit area, most of the services provided are year-round for children of ages 6-17 in grades K through 12. Detroit Magic Child Development is always looking to connect with organizations, businesses and other professional entities in providing equity and inclusions among disadvantaged families and communities. Mr. Dye cites this endeavor as his calling, purpose and mission from God, further attributing his success to God’s will.
In his position, Mr. Dye’s responsibilities include connecting the organization with the community and corporate businesses to provide programs for disadvantaged youths in the community. He is also responsible for ensuring that they bring in quality and special programs to the youth, young adults, and families for equity, financial, and educational development. Mr. Dye feels honored to have cleared the pathway for more than 5,000 youths, having an 85 to 90 percent success rate in kids furthering their education or becoming productive citizens in society.
To prepare for his professional journey, Mr. Dye graduated from Manassas High School in 1973 and went on to study insurance at the Dearborn Financial Institute through 1986. With this sentiment, he is a licensed registered insurance agent through the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Before joining Detroit Magic Child Development, Mr. Dye gained vast experience in the insurance and finance industry for more than 25 years. Notably, he was the recipient of a President’s Club Award from Insurance and Financial Services. Looking toward the future, Mr. Dye looks forward to the continued growth and success of Detroit Magic Child Development, hoping to touch the lives of many more children for years to come.
