Louis Troup Jr., Investigator at the City of Philadelphia’s Office of the Controller, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in compliance investigation.
With more than 40 years of professional experience, Mr. Troup has excelled since 2018 as an investigator with the City of Philadelphia Office of the Controller. In this role, he conducts investigations based on resident complaints, handles reporting and documentation of cases, searches through data and summarizes case details. He also performs surveillance to gather data. Prior to this position, Mr. Troup was a security supervisor with the Springside Chestnut Hill Academy from 2015 to 2018 and a security coordinator with QVC Inc. from 2013 to 2014. From 2012 to 2013, he served as a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, where he previously served from 1987 to 2008 as a special agent and recruiter. Mr. Troup started his career as a corrections officer, police officer and criminal investigator in New Jersey.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Troup attended Trenton State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice in 1978. In 2002, he earned a Master of Education in educational psychology and social foundation from the University of Virginia. Mr. Troup holds numerous professional certifications in addition to his formal degrees. He is certified in intellectual property theft and completed training with the Trenton Police Academy and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Troup is a speaker with Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or the D.A.R.E. Program. He also authored “The Intangible Benefits of Training Initiatives” and “Enhancing Learning Opportunities” with the Drug Enforcement Administration in 2001 and 2000, respectively. For his service and professional excellence, Mr. Troup received the Exceptional Service Award from the Drug Enforcement Administration in 1998. In the coming years, he hopes to wind down and relax.
