Dr. Glenn King Jr., Director of Community Relations at Wallace Community College Selma, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in consulting and community relations.

With more than 20 years of experience to his credit, Dr. King has excelled as the owner of King’s Consulting Company since 2009 and the director of community relations at Wallace Community College Selma since 2022. Prior to these positions, he was active at Wallace Community College Selma as the director of workforce development from 2018 to 2021 and a career coach in 2018. He previously served in a number of posts at Concordia College-Selma between 2009 and 2018, including as the dean of the division of business and computer information systems, the chairman of the division of business and computer information systems, the assistant professor of business administration and the coordinator of off-campus sites. Dr. King began his career as a bank teller with the Regions Financial Corporation from 2001 to 2009, a financial specialist with the Regions Financial Corporation from 2006 to 2009 and a retail sales associate with Butler Truax Jewelers from 2002 to 2009.

To support his professional endeavors, Dr. King pursued an education at Wallace Community College Selma, earning an Associate of Science in 2004. He continued his academic efforts with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management at Concordia College-Selma in 2005 and a Master of Science in human resource management at Troy University in 2006. He eventually concluded his studies at Walden University in 2017, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in management. Dr. King has also been celebrated over the course of his career, including with an Academic Best Paper Award, recognition among the Top 20 Under 40 in 2013 and selection in the Community College Policy Fellows Program by The Alabama Community College System in 2019.

Dr. King attributes his success to his grandmother, who raised him and emphasized the importance of productive work and simultaneous educational advancement. He was drawn to his industry after years of working in corporate banking exposed him to numerous people who needed to expand their business knowledge, which led him to shifting his attention to academia and eventually consulting. Proud of ensuring that Wallace Community College Selma became a registered apprenticeship sponsor, he hopes to cement Selma among the Top Ten Historic Cities in the United States while aiding Selma in establishing a four-year, fully accredited university in the future. Furthermore, Dr. King hopes to continue his endeavors as the deacon at First Baptist Church at Greater Washington Park and become a community leader in the coming years.
