Gregory C. Lathrop, CFA, President of the Lathrop Investment Management Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in investment and financial services.
With more than 40 years of experience, Mr. Lathrop has excelled as the president of the Lathrop Investment Management Corporation since 1981. In this role, he handles the day-to-day management of the company, fosters and attracts talent, oversees staff, conducts portfolio information and analysis, and handles a variety of investments for clients. Prior to this position, Mr. Lathrop worked for Worthen Bank and Trust for eight years. He began his career with the Trust Investment Department at the National Bank of Commerce in San Antonio, Texas.
In preparation for his career in financial services, Mr. Lathrop attended the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. In 1973, he concluded his higher education at St. Mary’s University, earning a master’s degree. Alongside his formal degrees, Mr. Lathrop is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
To keep abreast of his field, Mr. Lathrop has maintained affiliation with numerous professional organizations related to his areas of expertise. He is a member of the Arkansas CFA Society, the Investment Advisors Association and the CFA Society. In his spare time, he enjoys duck hunting and golfing.
Among his accomplishments, Mr. Lathrop is proud of passing each exam in pursuit of his Chartered Financial Analyst certification on the first attempt. In the coming years, he plans to promote himself to the role of chief operating officer. Over the years, Mr. Lathrop’s business has worked with local charities. Committed to charitable work, he donates to local food banks to help feed those who cannot afford basic necessities.
