With more than 15 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Ekhomu has excelled as the chief executive officer for Premium Legacy Healthcare since 2023 and the chief financial officer for Legacy Behavioral Healthcare since 2021. He was previously active with the World Financial Group of Transamerica Corporation as a senior financial consultant from 2015 to 2017 and the director of financial consulting from 2017 to 2021. Prior to these positions, he worked as a senior decision support specialist with Stanford Children’s Health in 2015. Mr. Ekhomu began his career with the Kraft Foods Group, part of The Kraft Heinz Company, as a financial associate from 2007 to 2009, a senior finance associate from 2009 to 2011 and a plant financial analyst from 2011 to 2014.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Ekhomu pursued an education at Illinois State University, from which he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2003. He subsequently concluded his studies at Loyola University Chicago in 2011, graduating from Quinlan School of Business with a Master of Business Administration. In addition to these accomplishments, Mr. Ekhomu served in the Army National Guard for eight years, advancing to the rank of first lieutenant during this tenure.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Ekhomu has accrued several accolades throughout his career. Notably, The Kraft Heinz Company presented him with the Values in Action Award and the Manager’s Awards for Contributions to the Krafts Foods Group. Furthermore, he was honored with a Commendation Medal from the Army National Guard as a testament to his accomplishments during his military service. Mr. Ekhomu was also appointed to the President’s Distinguished Club by Toastmasters International in 2017.
Mr. Ekhomu has attributed his success to his networking skills, his values and worth ethic, and his exemplary ability to create systems that result in more efficiency. Initially entering the field of accounting with the encouragement of his parents, he eventually discovered the greater value of a career in finance and shifted his attention to a new professional direction. He cites his present post as the chief financial officer of Legacy Behavioral Healthcare as the highlight of his impressive career thus far. Looking toward the future, Mr. Ekhomu hopes to advance to a higher administrative role with Legacy Behavioral Healthcare and eventually establish his own business.
