Matthew Thomsen

Title: President
Company: Tri Fire Solutions
Location: Danville, California, United States

Matthew Thomsen, president of Tri Fire Solutions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fire life safety.

Mr. Thomsen is a professional electrician and fire life safety specialist with over 25 years of experience. He has excelled as the founder and president of Tri Fire Solutions since 2018, inspired by the 2016 Ghost Ship Fire in Oakland, California. Mr. Thomsen holds multiple safety certifications from the Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) and a Project Fundamentals certification from AcademyX.

Mr. Thomsen began his career in 1996 by completing a five-year apprenticeship program in the San Francisco Bay Area, having graduated high school in 1995, and already garnered experience in the electrical field. After his training, Mr. Thomsen found out that he really enjoyed the industry and had an aptitude for the work, especially dealing with different types of electrical construction. From 2000 to 2007, he was employed as cable splicer with Tryco Electric before accepting a position as an electrical foreman with Rosendin Electric from 2007 to 2018. While in the process of establishing Tri Fire Solutions, Mr. Thomsen served as an electrical general foreman with OEG, Inc. from 2018 to 2021.

In the coming years, Mr. Thomsen is looking to expand Tri Fire’s footprint in fire safety education and incorporate that into their business model. The company’s goal is to educate younger people coming out of high school with STEM backgrounds who may not have a definitive career path. To this end, Tri Fire Solutions has hired an electrical engineer to develop learning platforms for these aspiring workers.

Mr. Thomsen cites his father, who spent over 40 years in the electrical industry, as a role model and inspiration in helping to overcome the obstacles on his career path. Diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia and colorblindness, which can be very problematic in the electrical trade, he has always pursued ways to achieve results that other people would not have necessarily come up with, out of a pure desire to succeed and not let outside forces determine his fate. Among the highlights of his career, Mr. Thomsen is incredibly proud to have the courage to have started his business, as he has found the experience to be very rewarding.
