Since 1979, Mr. Peregrim has excelled as the president of Byron’s Market and the Cambridge Village Markets. The businesses offer varied products and services including fuel, groceries, sundries, newspapers and cards. Both locations are committed to serving customers and are open seven days a week.
In his role as the president of his businesses, Mr. Peregrim oversees all aspects of the markets’ operation. For his accomplishments and service to the community, he was recognized with the Outstanding Independent Award from Progressive Grocer in 2023. Growing up, Mr. Peregrim garnered experience working in groceries after school, and fell in love with the work, launching his career.
Among his accomplishments, Mr. Peregrim considers running a small, independent grocery business the highlight of his career. Launching the endeavor was challenging, as he was competing in a saturated industry in the area. Despite ups and downs throughout his more than 40 years in business, Mr. Peregrim is proud to say Byron’s Market and the Cambridge Valley Market are stronger than ever.
Mr. Peregrim attributes his success to his commitment and hard work. He sees himself as a stubborn individual who channels his energy into his career and refuses to give up on his goals. In the future, he hopes to retire and spend time traveling.
