Lucia Udoh Birchfield, MBA, CHRC, Group Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Bridging-Health Int’l (USA) and Ascending Health Foundation (Nigeria), both nonprofit organizations have been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social advocacy and public health.
Since 2022, Ms. Birchfield has devoted her talents as the Group Chief Executive Officer and founder of two non-profit organizations-Bridging-Health Int’l and its affiliate, Ascending Health Foundation in Nigeria. Her advocacy and love for humanity goes beyond borders; she was a delegate in the Rebuilding Ukraine Forum at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania 2023. She is committed to promoting health outcomes globally by mitigating the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH).
Ms Birchfield has been a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International since 2004. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Women in Leadership Program at Lindenwood University Professional and Continuing Education (PACE). To keep abreast of her field, she maintains affiliations with the Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists, the American Public Health Association, the American Sociological Association, the Nigerian Institute of Bankers and the Nigerian Institute of Management.
To prepare for her career pursuits, Ms. Birchfield graduated from the University of Uyo in Nigeria with a Bachelor of Science in sociology and anthropology. A higher education at the same institution, obtaining a Master of Business Administration. She is currently undergoing additional academic pursuits.
Ms Birchfield served in the financial industry for over 12 years in Nigeria and in the United States; she traversed different industries in the United States before vying into clinical social services, where she found the purpose. She attributes her success to her resilience, desire to make an impact, and commitment to continual learning and development. Ms. Birchfield considers her goals to mitigate health inequalities and inequities in marginalized communities in line with the Sustainable Development Goal(SDG) agenda her greatest achievement and drive.
In the future, she hopes to mitigate the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes (SDoH) in marginalized populations/rural communities. She aspires to promote the welfare of children across the world- advocate to stop child labor, support formal education of children in struggling homes, provision of reading/writing tools and introduction of school lunch programs. She hopes to advocate for clean water in communities, food programs and health education campaigns, particularly in rural communities. In her spare time, she enjoys international travel and participating in charitable events.
