David Barrett, president at RCM Enterprise Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in property management.
With two and a half decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Barrett has excelled in the field of property management. Currently, he serves as the president of RCM Enterprise Services and Clifton Management Company, positions he has held since 2014. In these roles, he manages over 200 commercial janitorial and snow removal accounts and millions of dollars in projects. He supervises all marketing and contract matters.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Barrett oversaw a property portfolio with nearly 1,000 residential units as the director of operations for Crowninshield Management Corporation from 2012 to 2014. He also gained valuable expertise in project and portfolio management as vice president at American Properties Team Inc. from 2001 to 2012, where he was instrumental in the company’s development and success.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Barrett pursued his education and obtained several certifications. He is a licensed oil burner technician and holds an unrestricted construction license from the State of Massachusetts. He is also an accredited real estate manager and a certified property manager. Additionally, he is a licensed hoisting engineer and has earned the titles of association management specialist and professional community association manager.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Barrett remains actively affiliated with various organizations. He serves as a board member of the Institute of Real Estate Management and has held roles such as past president, past regional vice president, and chairman of the National Legislative Committee. He is also involved with the Boston Police Foundation, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, and his local fire department. Additionally, he has served as the regional vice president of the Institute of Real Estate Management since 2015 and treasurer for the Community Associations Institute.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Barrett has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized with the Hall of Fame Award by the Community Association Institute (CAI) in 2024 and named Volunteer of the Year by CAI in 2022. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute of Real Estate Management in 2020, the Blue Jacket Award from the New England Real Estate Journal in 2019, and was honored as Mentor of the Year by the Institute of Real Estate Management in 2016. Additionally, he earned the Past Presidents Award from the Institute of Real Estate Management in 2014 and was named Certified Property Manager of the Year in 2012.
Mr. Barrett also received the Manager of the Year award from CAI in 2009 and was a three-time Certified Property Manager Candidate of the Year in 2004, 2006, and 2009. Other accolades include a second Lifetime Achievement Award, the Leadership Award, and the CPM of the Year from the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Mr. Barrett credits his success to hard work, perseverance, strong ethics, leading by example, and leveraging educational programs in real estate. His involvement in legislative issues within the industry has also been a significant factor in his accomplishments. Throughout his career, one of the most notable highlights is the numerous awards he has received from the Institute of Real Estate Management and the Community Associations Institute.

Despite facing challenges such as the pandemic, snow removals, and the dynamic nature of the business environment, particularly with smaller businesses, he remains committed to maintaining and enhancing operational success.
