Claude Wells III, president and managing partner at CS Wells Investments LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance.
Following a prosperous career that has woven through developments in flight simulation, medical supplies, construction, and technology, Mr. Wells has found fulfillment with the Salt Lake City firm of CS Wells Investments LLC since 2013. As president and managing partner of the family-owned business, he advises clientele with his expertise in the particulars of real estate, private investments, annuities, and alternative investments. Mr. Wells also recently demonstrated his commitment to public service as a city council member for Riverton City, Utah, from 2019 to 2024. Although he could have remained active in local politics, he declined to seek reelection in order to spend more time with his family.
Mr. Wells honed his acuity for financial figures in the field of sales. He served as managing partner, president, and national sales manager at US Vinyl Fence from 2011 to 2013, as national sales manager and general manager at Rocky Mountain Vinyl Supply, LLC from 2002 to 2010, and as territory sales manager at Bager Rocky Mountain from 2001 to 2004. He was previously employed as director of materials at Bard Access Systems, Inc. from 1998-2001, preceded by stints as a senior buyer at the 3Com Corporation from 1995 to 1998, as a senior subcontracts administrator at Evans & Sutherland Computer Ltd from 1983 to 1996, and as a material cost estimator and senior buyer at E-Systems, Inc., Montek Division, from 1978-1983.
After studying applied science and business management at Salt Lake Community College from 1979 to 1981, Mr. Wells continued his educational pursuits with coursework in business at Westminster University from 1982-1983. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in business management from the University of Utah in 1990, later adding an MPA in political science and government from the same school in 2022. Along with his certification from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, he has been designated a lifetime certified purchasing manager by the National Association of Purchasing Management, a certified instructor by the American Fence Association, and an IS0 9000 certified auditor by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance.
Exerting his influence across numerous organizations, Mr. Wells has served on the board of directors and the board of governors for the American Fence Association and as a board trustee of the South Valley Sewer District. He has also been a board member of the Association of Municipal Councils, the Unified Fire Authority, the Riverton Law Enforcement Service Area, and the South Valley Chamber, as well as a committee member of the Point of the Mountain State Land Authority. His charitable endeavors include the support of orphanages in Haiti and volunteer efforts for the Coaches for the Kids Foundation and Rotary International, which honored him with its Paul Harris Fellow Award.
Mr. Wells attributes his success to his willingness to learn from others and to keeping an open mind. Emphasizing the values of kindness and humility, he believes in the importance of giving back to the community while seeking personal achievement. Devoted to his wife, Susie, and their six children, Mr. Wells plans to write 10 books to honor his 10 grandchildren. He is an avid traveler, having developed a fondness for exploring other cultures as a businessman. Additional hobbies include golfing, attending his car and motorcycle club activities, and spending time at a river cabin with the younger members of his family.
