He currently serves as the chief executive officer of Federal Procurement Data Reports, a role he has held since 2021. In this capacity, he assists companies in securing government contracts. His experience also includes serving as the director and principal investigator at Cross Timbers Procurement Center at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he worked from 2012 until his retirement in 2024. Prior to that, he was the project director for the Dallas/Fort Worth MBDA Business Center from 2011 to 2012 and the DFW Minority Business Enterprise Center from 2009 to 2011. He also served as president of PAZ Energy LLC from 2006 to 2009. In addition, he authored “The James Guide to Developing a Federal Marketing Plan” ebook in 2012. He is also dedicated to his community, volunteering with the special events committee of the Fort Worth Opera and the North Texas Small Business Development Center Network.
Mr. James laid a solid educational foundation with a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and management from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, earned in 1972. He is also a Certified Notary Public with the Texas Notary Public Commission. Reflecting on his path, he takes great pride in the establishment of PAZ ENERGY, where he successfully assembled a team of 11 individuals and formed an LLC, raising over $125 million. As president, he played a crucial role in negotiating contracts with drilling companies and collaborating with hedge funds. He attributes his success to his drive and the achievements ingrained in his family’s history, which he believes is part of their DNA. Looking ahead, he is committed to further growing his business. Retirement is not on his agenda, and he remains focused on maintaining good health and staying driven. Additionally, he aspires to leverage his expertise in government contracting by serving on the board of a for-profit company. He is also interested in contributing his knowledge to companies looking to enter the government contracting field or those already in it but needing additional expertise.
