In this position, his responsibilities include networking, conducting training sessions, attending client meetings, prospecting and networking events, handling 401k programs, and promoting financial literacy through a variety of daily activities. His previous experience includes serving as general manager at Sharples from 2022 to 2024, plant manager at Atkore from 2019 to 2022, value stream manager at Atkore from 2018 to 2019, production manager at Tesla from 2017 to 2018, and production supervisor at BorgWarner Inc. from 2013 to 2017. He also served in the U.S. Army as operations and logistics officer for the 172 Infantry Brigade from 2011 to 2012, executive officer from 2009 to 2011, and infantry platoon leader from 2006 to 2009. He earned a Bronze Star for his service in Iraq, a Meritorious Unit Citation, remains active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and the National Eagle Scout Association, and volunteers with Commonwealth Financial Group and the veteran community.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Barger laid a solid educational foundation, earning a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from the University of New Hampshire in 2004. He also holds certifications in Series 7, Life and Health, and the Securities Industry Essentials. After leaving the military in 2012, he transitioned into manufacturing before joining Tesla as a production manager, where he successfully launched the Model 3 battery pack program. During his time at Atkore, he oversaw the second and third-largest plants during the COVID-19 pandemic. He attributes his success to building connections with the right people, enjoys gaining new knowledge, and if he feels he has mastered a role without further learning opportunities, he prefers to move on to provide value elsewhere. In the coming years, he aims to develop his financial practice further and hopes to build stronger networking connections, create centers of influence, and eventually transition into a managing director role, where he can help develop new advisers.
