Kevin J. Sexton, MBA, PMP, manager of advisory, state and local government at KPMG, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business administration.
With nearly a decade and a half of experience to his credit, Mr. Sexton has built a successful career in business administration, specializing in enterprise resource planning, human resources, payroll, and financial systems. He currently serves as the acting director, manager, and adviser for state and local government at KPMG, a position he has held since 2011. In this capacity, his work primarily involves problem-solving for state and local government projects, particularly in the realm of technology. He assists these entities in addressing challenges, such as implementing new technological systems or preparing for significant events like the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. His previous experience includes serving as a PeopleSoft consultant at Optimum Solutions Group from 2004 to 2011, owner of a real estate company from 2002 to 2011, PeopleSoft HCM consultant at FSI Systems from 2002 to 2004, PeopleSoft HCM consultant at The Hunter Group from 1998 to 2001, and human resources at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel & Casino from 1993 to 1998.
Mr. Sexton also dedicates his time as the director of the University of Nevada’s Hospitality Alumni and serves as a board member for the Project Management Institute and UNLV Hospitality Alumni, a role he has held since 2020. He has also volunteered with the United Service Organizations since 2017 and is involved with Toastmasters International. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in hospitality management from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 1992, a Master of Business Administration from Capella University in Minneapolis in 2021 and is a certified Project Management Professional. He attributes his success to the influence of Tony Robbins, a renowned motivational speaker whom he has followed for many years. In the coming years, he aims to grow his small team, supporting their development so they can take on additional responsibilities and drive the organization forward, believing that by empowering others, he also paves the way for his own success.
