Adam Hocek, founder and chief executive officer of Aecho.ai, and owner and chief technology officer of Broadstrokes Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Backed by over 40 years of professional experience, Mr. Hocek has positioned himself as a leader in the world of cutting-edge technology, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence (AI). His career began with IBM in 1983. Later, Mr. Hocek worked in research and development with the startup Audec, which created speech technology chips. During this time, he also helped develop the first personal reading system for the visually impaired and blind, which he still considers one of the greatest highlights of his career. In 1994, Mr. Hocek joined Comverse Government Systems as a technical adviser and senior systems engineer. He later contributed as a senior programmer analyst at OTA Limited Partnership, the vice president of technology and chief architect at Younology, the vice president of product development at eCommServer, and an open-source programmer at Marist College.
Mr. Hocek’s extensive work history includes roles at Medco, the state of Arizona, Vassar College and Mind Alliance Systems. In 2000, he launched Broadstrokes Inc., where he has operated as chief technology officer for nearly 25 years. Throughout this time, Mr. Hocek has assisted in managing and developing a range of messaging, cloud computing and social networking services. In 2004, he worked with Broadstrokes to create tools supporting first responders by providing them with information on how to swiftly and safely locate emergency incidents, hospitals, and other responders. In recognition of the impact of this project, Mr. Hocek was presented with an award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
In 2020, Mr. Hocek established himself in the growing AI industry by co-founding SignalAction.ai, where he also held the positions of co-chief executive officer and chief technology officer. The next year, he transitioned into the co-founding of Aecho.ai, where he has served as chief executive officer since. Through Aecho.ai, Mr. Hocek explores the intersection of human psychology and technology. He also handles the business side of the organization, serving as a connection between the developers and sales team while directly communicating with investors or other potential business partners.
Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Hocek laid a strong academic foundation for his future. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on electronics from the University of Essex in 1979. Subsequently, Mr. Hocek earned a Master of Science in computer engineering from Syracuse University in 1985. His education was further bolstered with postgraduate studies in digital signal processing at Rutgers University.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Hocek has contributed to the wider field through numerous presentations and writings. He co-authored “Definitive VoiceXML” in 2004, providing a guide for readers looking to implement spoken interface technology into applications and websites. At the Sakai 2011 Conference, Mr. Hocek showcased his integration of XWiki and Sakai, furthering the development of wiki software. He is also a major supporter of and contributor to the open-source software community.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Hocek is a dedicated husband and father to one son. He enjoys hiking and practicing martial arts in his free time.
