Before his present position, Mr. Standlee was a laboratory technician for the United States Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) from 2001 to 2003 while pursuing his undergraduate degree. As part of the ARS, he supported various agricultural issues affecting the daily lives of Americans through his work, which was foundational to his later success. Mr. Standlee’s primary responsibilities included performing DNA extractions and protein assays on dessication-tolerant moss.
Mr. Standlee graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry. He also garnered a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality corrective action project manager license, professional wetland scientist certification through the Society of Wetland Scientists, and a Leak Petroleum Storage Tank Corrective Action project manager license. Besides his educational background, Mr. Standlee remains active in his industry as a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists, which allows him to stay at the forefront of the environmental sector.
Mr. Standlee’s extensive background includes groundwater, surface water, soil assessment and remediation, wetlands, environmental assessments, environmental site compliance, city, county, state and federal environmental permitting, and biological assessments, among other field areas. These have been pivotal to his many accomplishments in the industry.
