Earlier in his career, he was controller at vLink Solutions from 2001 to 2003 and senior staff accountant at Mazars from 1997 to 2001.
Beyond his accounting roles, Mr. Voss has also volunteered at Northside Middle School and Northside Elementary. Additionally, he worked as a professional chef and jockey. He laid a strong educational foundation, completing coursework in accounting at Southeastern Louisiana University, a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts from Baltimore International Culinary College in 1992, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Strayer University in 1998. He also pursued coursework in general education at Chamberlain Hunt Academy in 2011, and holds certifications as a professional controller, professional procurement manager, and professional horseshoer.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Voss’ love for numbers naturally led him to a career in accounting. While he admits he was not necessarily exceptional at math, he was drawn to the way numbers conveyed vital information. To him, accurate numbers told the full story of a company. Beyond the technical aspects, he also appreciates the interpersonal side of accounting, finding joy in engaging with the people around him. Throughout his career, he has become known for his exceptional ability to successfully turn around companies. Whether as a chef in his earlier years or in his current accounting roles, he has consistently demonstrated a talent for stepping into challenging situations and bringing order to chaos. This ability to resolve issues and set organizations on the right path is his most notable achievement, and one he finds deeply fulfilling. For him, the true reward lies in seeing his efforts lead to meaningful success.
Mr. Voss attributes his success to his strong work ethic, a quality he believes is increasingly rare in today’s society. He emphasizes that true success requires dedication and effort, rather than expecting results without hard work. In the coming years, he plans to continue pursuing work that he genuinely enjoys, finding fulfillment in accounting and the connections he builds with others. Growing up in New Orleans, he values meaningful interactions and collaboration. While he briefly served as an interim chief financial officer, he found the role disconnecting and remains committed to hands-on work. Looking to the future, he aims to establish and successfully turn around a new company.
