Since 2002, he has provided services through Dania Performance Management to clients across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, including multinational corporations, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), sovereign governments, associations, fellow accountants and condominium corporations. His expertise spans a range of specialties for larger entities, and with SMEs, he focuses on financial planning, including the development of business plans, operational strategies, market analysis, quantified business strategies, marketing strategies, pro-forma financial statements and firm valuation.
With 45 years of experience, Dr. Guay has made significant contributions to accounting, finance, strategic management, business consulting and academia. Previously, he served as the chief financial accountant, chief accounting research officer, and chief education officer of the Government of Canada (GOC) for the Receiver General (RG), developing and implementing full-time accrual accounting in the accounts of Canada. Without his contributions, the current state of accounting and financial management in the GOC would not exist, as he was responsible for initiated and developed all the GOC’s accounting policies, all RG directives and all Canadian public accounts. In the public sector, he advised 43 sovereign governments on the implementation of accrual accounting, and in the private sector, he advised multinationals on accounting and finance matters and developed business plans for SMEs.
Alongside his extensive experience, Dr. Guay holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in international finance and a Doctor of Philosophy in accounting from Northcentral University. His extensive research and publications in the field of strategic management accounting have been approved by the International Federation of Accountants, showcasing his decades of dedication and expertise in this area. To further his accounting expertise, he maintains memberships in nine accounting institutes, which allows him to uphold nine accounting certifications across the United States, Canada, Europe, England, Scotland, the Republic of Ireland and Australia. Moving forward, he plans to maintain Dania Performance Management’s success and aims to continue serving as an adviser to sovereign governments. In addition, he hopes to pursue consulting opportunities.
