Larissa Dayana Jean, founder and chief executive officer of The Gift Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
With over a decade of experience, Ms. Jean has established a successful career in education, currently serving as founder and chief executive officer of The Gift Center, a position she has held since 2020. The Gift Center is a non-traditional educational facility for academically gifted ninth to 12th-grade students. It offers year-long leadership development, college and career coaching, and mentorship. For 11th and 12th-grade students, the center provides personalized one-on-one college and career guidance, including assistance with scholarships, resumes, and the college admission process. Her experience also includes roles as a Spanish instructor, IB MYP coordinator, and gifted coordinator with Clarke County School District from 2012 to 2017, and as a K-5 Spanish instructor with DeKalb County School District from 2008 to 2012.
Ms. Jean laid a strong educational foundation, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Science in foreign language education from the University of Georgia. She also holds a Master of Arts in leadership studies from Beulah Heights University, Tier I certification in educational leadership from the University of West Georgia in 2021, and is also AP Spanish certified and holds Spanish, K-12 foreign language education, and gifted certifications. Additionally, she has dedicated her time as a minister at her local church since 2016, and as a mentor with WAIT Training. She is an active member of the Foreign Language Association of Georgia, the University of Georgia Alumni Association, the National Association of Christian Women Entrepreneurs, and the Georgia Christian Business Network. She is also the author of “Lessons Learned as a Daughter of the King: What God’s Girl Should Know from Her Heavenly Father” and “Lessons Learned as a Bridesmaid: What Every Single Woman Should Know Before Becoming a Bride.”
Reflecting on her path, Ms. Jean is skilled in student leadership development, natural gift inventory and cultivation, mentorship, and college and career readiness. She has extensive experience as a K-12 Spanish teacher and has demonstrated expertise in community outreach, tutoring, public speaking, creative writing, and self-publishing. She takes pride in leaving a lasting impact on her students, empowering them to use their gifts to better their communities. She attributes her success in education and life coaching to her faith. Looking to the future, she plans to expand The Gift Center to multiple locations nationwide and offer scholarships to deserving students.
