Reflecting on his path, Mr. Rai’s most notable achievement over the past two years is his work at Meta, a leader in open-source AI models like Llama and EMO. As lead project manager for the inference engine powering these models, he developed a service management layer for IPNext, Meta’s Next Generation Inference Model. Before joining Meta, he worked at Microsoft, where he managed several key projects, one of which involved modernizing Yammer, a legacy product acquired in 2012, to support multi-tenant organizations. This feature was integrated into Teams, becoming part of Microsoft’s broader offering. In light of his impressive undertakings, he was honored with a Project Manager Award at Meta and received additional recognition from Amazon. Looking to the future, he aspires to transition from the tech industry into a role as a venture capitalist, as he has identified a critical gap in how venture capitalists evaluate startups.
