Title: President and Chief Executive Officer

Dos Pisano’s Inc.
Location: Concord, California, United States

Dominic Frank Machi, President and Chief Executive Officer at Dos Pisano’s Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Education and Food Nutrition.

Mr. Machi, a talented chef and expert in food nutrition, is the president and chief executive officer of Dos Pisano’s Inc., a company dedicated to producing high-quality bakery and food products for K-12 schools, colleges and universities, health care facilities and retail organizations. Based in Concord, California, the company offers an array of food selections, from bagels and tortillas to cheese tamales, sourdough baguettes, croissants and more.

Establishing his business in 2022, Mr. Machi’s goal was to make gourmet foods for customers that support wellness. By sourcing sustainable ingredients and not including any antibiotics, hormones, preservatives or artificial colors, he continues to excel as a leading entrepreneur in this sector.

Since earning the business of several local school districts, Mr. Machi has garnered tremendous success. Among them, the school district he attended became recognized as the first in the U.S. to receive certification from a nonprofit organization called Eat Real. Eat Real aims to improve the supply chain and promote healthier eating for K-12 students. Of their goals, the organization sought to remove 85 undesirable ingredients and preservatives from the food served in schools. Mr. Machi was also instrumental at Mount Diablo Unified School District, where he transitioned the district away from serving ultra-processed food to freshly cooked meals.

Mr. Machi’s success has profoundly impacted the lives of so many individuals’ food choices. Another notable accomplishment was when he introduced a scratch cooking model, emphasizing cooking real food in schools instead of buying pre-made, processed food from manufacturers. This model quickly became popular among food service directors since they try to avoid selling breads that have the ingredient calcium propionate, a common mold inhibitor that allows for a much longer shelf life.

Before launching Dos Pisano’s Inc., Mr. Machi gained experience as the director of food nutrition services at Mount Diablo Unified School District from 2017 to 2023 and as the director of student nutrition services at Davis Joint Unified School District between 2013 and 2017. These roles were foundational to his knowledge and enthusiasm for improving the quality of people’s food.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Machi studied at California State University in Chico, where he acquired a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and food administration in 1990. Today, he remains relevant as a prominent member of several industry-related organizations, such as the California School Nutrition Association. Moreover, Mr. Machi has been affiliated with Disciples Escoffier International, a nonprofit organization founded by a chef in Nice, France, in 1954, with locations in France, Thailand, China, and Romania and offer bachelor’s degree programs and professional diplomas in culinary arts.

Passionate about his work, Mr. Machi believes that what he does for a living is impactful. As he prepares for the future, he intends to continue growing Dos Pisano’s Inc. beyond California and into other states, providing as much healthy food as possible to school children and others without options. Mr. Machi believes his industry success stems from great teachers and chefs who have mentored him throughout his career. He also notes his work ethic, which he learned from his father and grandfather.
