Lauritz Raymond Ingram, basketball director at Life Time Fitness, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in sports and recreation.
Mr. Ingram, a career athlete and coach, has dedicated his work to helping others improve their game. Having begun his career as a referee, he later worked in Germany as an athletic director and basketball coach. He also coached for The George School and was the head coach at the University of North Carolina Asheville. Most recently, Mr. Ingram joined Life Time Fitness in 2018 as a basketball director, where he continues to inspire athletes through his passion and wisdom.
Besides his coaching expertise, Mr. Ingram spent several years teaching at Roosevelt High School and the Malverne Lutheran School in New York. He also taught at YES Prep Houston and in various schools in Fulda, Germany. Having influenced so many, both on and off the court, Mr. Ingram notes that he has always gone against the grain to challenge the norm. This has been particularly true in his coaching roles because he understands the game from the player’s perspective.
Mr. Ingram was a collegiate basketball who graduated from Hofstra University with a bachelor’s degree in history. He also received licenses to coach and referee basketball in Germany and garnered an International Basketball Federation basketball coaching license. Mr. Ingram’s success in college nearly landed him a spot in the NBA before serving in the United States Army stationed on the German border. Subsequently, he began serving as the athletic director at a military installation in Germany, which was the beginning of a very successful career in coaching. Among his many career accomplishments, Mr. Ingram coached a young man who was drafted and ultimately inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame. He also authored the book, “It’s the Coach’s Fault” and has become a successful blogger. Additionally, he was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the Life Time Fitness Hall of Fame in 2020 and 2024, respectively.
