Zeenat Khan, founder and director of DFW Refugee Outreach Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the nonprofit sector.

Ms. Khan, an experienced executive in the nonprofit sector, founded DFW Refugee Outreach Services (DWFROS) in 2016 and serves as its director. Having leveraged her former success as a volunteer for global organizations, she now manages operations and oversees all volunteers and programs. DFWROS is based in Dallas and supports refugee families through the Dallas-Fort Worth area by providing mentorship, tangible aid, and educational opportunities while facilitating access to essential resources. Since its establishment, Ms. Khan has served over 2,000 refugees, providing them with essentials to sustain life here in the U.S. and a range of classes like English as a second language, gardening, and cooking. Additionally, she launched the Hope Kitchen, a home-based business that enables these women to earn an income and become self-sufficient.

Before founding her nonprofit, Ms. Khan worked as a security guard. She also volunteered in a similar capacity at a mosque for several years. Drawing inspiration from her mother to form DFWROS, Ms. Khan began visiting places where people experiencing homelessness and refugees would gather. As the wife of a Canadian man, she understood and appreciated the cultural adjustment and sought to do more to help others.

Ms. Khan completed numerous training and examinations before receiving level-three certification in security. Besides this accomplishment, she has garnered a wealth of hands-on experience in her current field. Grateful to her many volunteers, particularly the youth population, for their technological skills and innovative ideas, Ms. Khan is eager to continue helping refugees, especially females from Afghanistan, as they become more independent. A full-time commitment that requires her attention seven days per week all year long, she remains steadfast in her goals while enabling more and more individuals to access her programs through DFWROS.
