Mr. Scipioni’s tenure also included serving on the manufacturer’s management team, which had purchased the business from GM, leading to its establishment as a separate private entity.
After parting ways with GM, Mr. Scipioni joined a French company before being acquired by Pratt & Whitney Canada (PWC), a Canada-based aircraft engine manufacturer headquartered in Longueuil, Quebec. He also succeeded as a consultant for several organizations, a position he upheld until 2020, when he founded SDVOSB.
Highly educated in preparation for his career, Mr. Scipioni received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in management from Webster University in University Park, Florida. His education has been instrumental throughout his diverse career. Mr. Scipioni credits his success to his understanding of business development, marketing and sales, with a particular focus on military business development.
Besides his work-related endeavors. Mr. Scipioni has enjoyed giving back to his community and beyond, namely through his generous support with Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
As a testament to his commitments to the U.S. military, Mr. Scipioni is recognized as a lifetime member of the Army Aviation Association of America, the Association of the United States Army, the Combat Helicopter Pilots Association, the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and the Military Order of the Purple Heart, which is recognized as a congressionally chartered U.S. war veterans’ organization.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Scipioni’s most notable achievement was the establishment of SDVOSB. He remains actively engaged in his company as a dedicated business owner who will soon celebrate his 80th birthday in 2025. As he looks toward the future, Mr. Scipioni intends to continue managing his business for as long as possible. He also aims to support his wife’s business, Lazy Willow Antiques and More.
