Before launching Elite Healers Sports Massage, Mr. Cardona was an adjunct professor and clinic supervisor at ASA College in New York City from 2017 to 2019, where he designed and taught advanced massage therapy courses. He also worked as a massage therapy clinic supervisor, overseeing student clinicians in a real-world treatment setting.
Prior to transitioning into massage therapy, Mr. Cardona was a personal trainer and mentor at Equinox for over a decade, beginning in 2005 at age 24. He specialized in strength and conditioning coaching, specifically for corrective exercise, mobility enhancement and injury prevention. He also garnered a massage therapy license during his tenure at Equinox.
Mr. Cardona graduated from Hunter College in New York City with an undergraduate degree in 2005. Subsequently, he received a personal training credential in kinesiology and exercise science through the American Academy of Personal Training in 2007 and completed coursework in occupational science, massage therapy, and therapeutic massage at Pacific College of Health and Science between 2014 and 2016. Moreover, Mr. Cardona holds numerous professional designations, making him highly qualified in his field. Among them, he is a certified advanced medical massage professional, holds sports massage certification, is functional movement screen certified, and holds pregnant and postpartum client certification. He also has several fitness credentials.
