Ben Kotler, Managing Director at MSN Advisors and Director at Dear John Denim, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in marketing.
Mr. Kotler has built a long and distinguished career in the apparel industry, marked by his dedication to people and their growth. As the managing director of MSN Advisors since 2016, he has leveraged his extensive experience to guide businesses in strategic planning and operational efficiency. Mr. Kotler’s role involves advising companies on market trends and helping them navigate the complexities of the apparel sector.
In addition to his current position, Mr. Kotler has been serving as the director of Dear John Denim since 2000. Over the past five years, he has been instrumental in establishing national sales and managing product marketing primarily to boutique businesses. His responsibilities include overseeing nine sales agencies throughout the country to organize trade shows and contributing to merchandising and design efforts. Striving to follow the organization’s mission to deliver high-quality, trendy garments, Mr. Kotler has been a driving force in Dear John’s continued success.
Before his tenure at Dear John Denim, Mr. Kotler was the national sales manager for Nally & Millie in Los Angeles from 2011 to 2016. In this capacity, he played a crucial role in expanding the company’s market presence and enhancing its brand recognition. Nanny & Millie was founded over two decades ago and was recently sold to two of its dedicated employees. Mr. Kotler’s leadership skills were also honed as the vice president of operations at Simso Tex, a privately held textile manufacturing company based in Compton, California, between 2005 and 2011.
Mr. Kotler’s career began with Jordache Enterprises Inc., where he gained valuable insights into the apparel industry that would later inform his entrepreneurial ventures. In 1996, he also founded Natural Origins, a company that became a pioneer in using Tencel fabric, an environmentally friendly material made from eucalyptus trees. Despite the challenges following September 11, 2001, which led to the closure of Natural Origins, Mr. Kotler’s ability to foster strong relationships with his team was evident when employees offered to work without pay to save the company.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Kotler attended college after high school, earning a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Tel Aviv University, Israel’s largest and oldest public research university. This technical foundation has been instrumental in his approach to problem-solving and innovation within the apparel industry.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Kotler is actively involved in various civic activities as a volunteer with his homeowners’ association and as a sponsor for local charitable organizations. He is also passionate about mentoring young people and underscores the importance of surrounding oneself with individuals who desire to advance and learn.
Mr. Kotler attributes much of his success to the motivation he shared with his wife as young parents striving for a better life for their children. Looking ahead, he plans to retire from his full-time position to focus on charitable activities. He also intends to join the local board of education in Oregon to improve children’s education. Moreover, Mr. Kotler’s commitment to raising money for children’s charities remains a top priority.
