He ultimately worked his way up to training instructor and assistant superintendent of an aircraft maintenance unit from 2017 to 2018 and weapons flight chief between 2018 and 2021.
Mr. McKeen’s educational background includes an Associate of Applied Science in aircraft armament systems technology from the Community College of the Air Force and a Bachelor of Business Administration, cum laude, from Columbia Southern University. These academic achievements have been instrumental in his success, providing him with a solid foundation in business principles and technical expertise.
Certified by the Alabama Department of Insurance with a general life and health certification since 2022, Mr. McKeen also holds several certifications from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, including Series 66, Series 7 and Security Industry Essentials. These credentials underscore his proficiency in financial management and his commitment to professional development.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. McKeen is actively involved with the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. He also engages with the Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA), a federally chartered nonprofit organization representing the professional and personal interests of active duty, retired and veteran Total Air Force and their families. Moreover, Mr. McKeen is a senior mentor for AFSA’s Chapter 444 in Montgomery, Alabama, demonstrating his commitment to leadership and community service.
Throughout his service, Mr. McKeen was most proud of positively impacting the careers of those he mentored, witnessing their growth into strong noncommissioned officers and leaders. His exemplary service earned him accolades such as Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year at the Wing Level and Noncommissioned Officer of the Year at the Wing Level. Since pivoting into advising, Mr. McKeen’s dedication to excellence has been recognized with several awards, including the New Adviser of the Year, and recognition among the top 5% at First Command Financial Services Inc.
Born in Tampa, Florida, Mr. McKeen attributes much of his success to his upbringing and early involvement in competitive swimming, which instilled a strong drive to excel. Looking ahead, he intends to remain on his current career path with aspirations to advance within First Command Financial Services Inc. He aims to become a district adviser to assist more clients and influence financial advisers, thereby extending his positive impact on future generations. Additionally, Mr. McKeen is pursuing additional professional credentials, including the retirement income certified planner designation.
