Before pivoting into entrepreneurship, Dr. Fulton-Taylor served as a supervisory investigator at the U.S. Department of Labor from 2012 to 2025. In this capacity, she enforced the Employee Retirement Income Security Act to ensure compliance among private-sector employers regarding employee benefit plans. Dr. Fulton-Taylor’s tenure at the department also included a role as a senior investigator in 2021.
Dr. Fulton-Taylor’s academic journey laid a strong foundation for her professional achievements. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in banking and financial support services from Temple University in 1991, followed by a master’s degree in nonprofit, public and organizational management from Eastern University in 2006. Furthermore, Dr. Fulton-Taylor earned a Doctor of Ministry with a focus on female leadership from United Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia in 2017. Her education has been pivotal in shaping her approach to leadership and advocacy.
Among other accomplishments, Dr. Fulton-Taylor led the Inside Out Program at Riverside Correctional Facility from 2006 to 2009. Conducting sessions every Thursday and Friday during that time, she provided consistent support and engagement by taking an approach that emphasized personal growth and empowerment through structured activities and discussions. Dr. Fulton-Taylor’s success culminated in graduation ceremonies that celebrated the achievements of participants. This involvement earned her the Outstanding Volunteer Service Award from the Philadelphia Department of Prisons, City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, highlighting her dedication to community service and rehabilitation efforts.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Dr. Fulton-Taylor is an accomplished author of “The Lies We Were Told: From Foehood to Sisterhood,” which explores themes of empowerment and transformation among women. Her work emphasizes the importance of empathy and collaboration as strengths rather than weaknesses, particularly in environments where vulnerability is often discouraged.
Dr. Fulton-Taylor attributes much of her success to her faith and the belief system instilled during her upbringing. She views life as an ongoing evolution toward becoming one’s true self, recognizing that many barriers are self-imposed but can be transformed into catalysts for growth through a change in mindset.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Fulton-Taylor aims to create a movement called “Sisters Versus the System,” which seeks to empower women and young girls through active leadership, celebration, collaboration and education. Inspired by stories of resilience and empathy, she is determined to encourage women to support one another in all aspects of life, including professional settings such as boardrooms, where vulnerability is often undervalued.
