Mr. Adee has carved a remarkable path in the aviation industry, marked by his extensive experience and dedication. Following his tenure in the military and a distinguished career in aviation, he founded ADEE Consulting in 2014, where he has served as the company’s president. Mr. Adee’s role involves developing manuals and providing training for ground personnel, drawing on his extensive experience as both a ground and flight instructor in the military and civilian sectors. His deep understanding of regulations and training procedures has positioned him as a knowledgeable resource in the field.
Having begun his career with a distinguished tenure in the U.S. Air Force that spanned over 20 years, Mr. Adee rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. During this time, he served in the Vietnam War, an experience that profoundly shaped his life and career. After returning from Vietnam, Mr. Adee transitioned into an instructional role, imparting his knowledge to aspiring pilots in basic training. In 1991, he retired from active duty and joined the reserves.
Mr. Adee also embarked on a successful career as a commercial pilot. He joined Southwest Airlines Co. in 1984, where he served as a captain until his retirement in 2004 at the age of 60. His expertise in aviation was further recognized when he became a Federal Aviation Administration inspector in Miami, authorized to conduct check rides and evaluations with airline pilots. Mr. Adee notably garnered 33,300 hours of flight time during his tenure as a pilot.
Following his retirement from commercial flying, Mr. Adee continued to contribute to the aviation field as an on-call pilot and trainer for various companies. His commitment to training aspiring pilots remained steadfast until 2009, when he became ill, necessitating a step back from his aviation pursuits. Despite this setback, Mr. Adee’s passion for aviation persisted through his work as an aviation consultant.
Mr. Adee’s academic achievements have played a significant role in his success. Earning a wrestling scholarship for college, he initially earned a Bachelor of Science in geology and earth science from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, in 1967. While in college, he joined the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program and was subsequently accepted by all four branches of the military, ultimately choosing to serve in the U.S. Air Force. Years later, Mr. Adee returned to college, receiving a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1995. These educational accomplishments have provided Mr. Adee with a strong foundation for his career.
Throughout his career, Mr. Adee has been actively involved in industry-related organizations, including the Veterans Association. Beyond his professional affiliations, he finds joy in giving back to his community, particularly in making small toys for children during the Christmas season.
Mr. Adee’s contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force and induction into the Sigma Phi Epsilon Hall of Fame. Additionally, Mr. Adee was honored with three Distinguished Flying Crosses and over 15 Air Medals for his service.
