Prior to his role at CARE, Mr. Wallace excelled as the chief executive officer of Summit Communications Management Corporation, also based in Palm Beach Gardens, beginning in 1995. His expertise in nonprofit organizations and public relations has been a cornerstone of his professional journey. Additionally, he found much success as the resident camp director and director of counseling and counselor training at a New England summer camp from 1987 to 2019. This role was particularly rewarding for Mr. Wallace, as it allowed him to establish one of the largest summer teen leadership programs in the country.
Mr. Wallace’s career also includes significant contributions to government service. From 1993 to 1995, he worked as the undersecretary of economic affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, following his tenure as assistant secretary of consumer affairs and business regulation from 1991 to 1993. Mr. Wallace’s experience as the vice president at M.L. Strategies, LLC – Mintz, Levin in Boston from 1995 to 1998 further honed his skills in community outreach and motivational speaking.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wallace has been celebrated for his influence on youth and families. He was honored by the White House for his contributions, with a press conference ceremony held at Boston City Plaza in his recognition. The American Camp Association, Inc., Camping Magazine, and Susquehanna University Alumni Association have also acknowledged his work with various accolades. His membership in industry-related organizations such as the American Camp Association, Inc., and Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology underscores his commitment to professional excellence.
Mr. Wallace’s academic background laid a strong foundation for his achievements. He initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications, business, and psychology from Susquehanna University in 1981, graduating cum laude. He continued his education with a Master of Science, magna cum laude, from Bucknell University in 1984. His ongoing coursework at St. Thomas University’s Institute for Ethical Leadership reflects his dedication to lifelong learning.
