Mr. Patrick has established a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in information technology, data management and artificial intelligence (AI), earning recognition for his expertise in these areas. Since 2023, he has been a senior consultant at Illumination Works LLC, a consulting firm specializing in data and digital transformation. Mr. Patrick began on the commercial side of the business, assisting companies in extracting valuable data for reporting purposes before pivoting to the government sector, where he now specializes in developing knowledge graphs and integrating advanced ML and AI solutions.
Before being acquired by Illumination Works LLC, Mr. Patrick was self-employed as a director of opportunities and growth in 202. He also contributed to Ohio National Financial Services for nearly two decades, beginning in 2004 as a technical services analyst and progressing to roles such as database administrator team lead, director of network infrastructure and information technology security engineer, until 2023.
Mr. Patrick’s tenure at Ohio National Financial Services allowed him to demonstrate exceptional skill in managing networking, messaging and collaboration systems while overseeing software licensing and modeling. He also became a subject matter expert in IBM WebSphere, teaching others about its applications and delivering presentations at IBM Impact conferences in Las Vegas and Columbus. Mr. Patrick’s most notable achievement during this period was saving the company approximately $10.3 million annually by reducing licensing costs and eliminating duplication of WebSphere applications.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Patrick served as a consultant and senior database administrator at Mercy Health (formerly Mercy Health Partners) from 1998 to 2004, following his initial appointment as an administrator with the organization. There, he gained foundational experience in database management within the PeopleSoft environment and with WebLogic systems. Mr. Patrick’s professional journey began at Cincinnati Milacron Inc. in 1994 as a showroom manager after starting as a part-time employee responsible for maintaining machine tools.
Mr. Patrick’s academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in information technology from the University of Cincinnati, which he earned in 1996. His commitment to continuous learning is reflected in numerous certifications from organizations like CompTIA and Neo4j, enabling him to remain at the forefront of technological advancements throughout his career.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Patrick is actively involved with several civic organizations, including Tender Mercies, Ronald McDonald House and the Cincinnati Pinball League. He is also a founding member of the Mississippi Pinball League under the International Flipper Pinball Association.

Mr. Patrick’s innovative work includes leading projects that leverage natural language modeling and large language models, as well as pioneering efforts in automatic image labeling for munitions. This initiative not only facilitates image matching but also explores materials analysis, reuse options and disposal methods for traditional and modern munitions, and has delivered significant cost savings to the U.S. Department of Defense.
In light of his success, Mr. Patrick has been recognized with multiple honors, such as a Rising Star Award and several internal accolades from Illumination Works LLC. He has also been highlighted in IBM publications, featured by Advocent, and interviewed by IBM for internal circulation. He credits much of his success to a “can-do” attitude and willingness to embrace new opportunities.
Looking ahead, Mr. Patrick aims to further advance his career by collaborating with others to bring new technologies into focus, particularly those related to AI, and establishing partnerships across industries. He also seeks to inspire others by raising awareness about the potential impact of technology on society.
