Before joining SAS Institute Inc., Mr. Anderson was a principal of pricing strategy at Omnitracs from 2020 to 2021. There, he contributed to the development of innovative pricing models for software services supporting the trucking and logistics industry. His analytical approach and ability to synthesize cross-functional perspectives enabled Omnitracs to enhance its competitive positioning.
From 2018 to 2020, Mr. Anderson served as the director of strategic pricing at Commvault, a leading provider of data protection and recovery software. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in transforming the company’s pricing strategy through the Commvault Complete program. He led efforts to consolidate an extensive product portfolio, streamlining offerings from approximately 40,000 to 60,000 products down to six core solutions. This initiative improved margins, simplified sales processes and contributed significantly to Commvault receiving the Technology Partner of the Year Award from Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Mr. Anderson’s earlier experience included a significant tenure at EMC, where he advanced through several roles of increasing responsibility. From 2010 to 2013, he worked as a senior business operations analyst. He then became a principal analyst. As a manager of corporate pricing strategy and operations from 2016 to 2018, Mr. Anderson played a key role in integrating new technologies and companies into EMC’s broader pricing framework following acquisitions. Notably, he was part of the team that developed a market-disruptive pricing strategy for XtremeIO after its acquisition. This milestone helped make it the fastest product in EMC’s history to reach $1 billion in revenue.
Before his time at EMC, Mr. Anderson served as an officer at State Street, where he held the position of senior associate from 2008 to 2010. He began his financial services career at Investors Bank & Trust as a fund accountant in 2006 before advancing to senior fund accountant from 2007 to 2008. Mr. Anderson’s professional journey began with a focus on community engagement as a recruitment coordinator for Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay from 2005 to 2006. This role sparked his lifelong passion for mentoring and coaching others.
Mr. Anderson’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts in political economics from the prestigious Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey, earned in 2005. He further enhanced his leadership capabilities by completing the McKenzie Black Executive Leadership Program certification.
Active in his professional community, Mr. Anderson is a member of several industry organizations, including the Professional Pricing Society, Silicon Valley Pricing and the Pricing Software as a Service Community. Civically engaged throughout his life, he has served as a board member for the Albert Hamilton Brown Bridge the Gap Scholarship Fund since 2012, a program dedicated to providing financial assistance for college students seeking greater opportunities after graduation. Mr. Anderson formerly held various coaching roles, including for a youth basketball camp. He was also a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay and the director of the council at a charter school.
Throughout his career, Mr. Anderson has demonstrated expertise in engineering solutions, taking a broad perspective, refining processes and developing talent through coaching and mentorship. Recognizing his achievements, he received numerous awards from Dell ECM, including a Gold Award for Excellence in 2015, two Silver Awards for Excellence in 2016, and a Global Pricing I.M.P.A.C.T. Award for Excellence at Dell EMC in 2017. More recently, Mr. Anderson was named Most Valuable Internal Partner in 2024.
Mr. Anderson attributes his success to a strong financial acumen, sharp analytical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
