Title: Senior Designer
Company: Hayden Interiors
Location: Ripley, Tennessee, United States
Kelley Winifred Stout, senior designer at Hayden Interiors, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in commercial interior design.
With nearly three decades of experience to her credit, Mrs. Stout has established herself as a leading expert in commercial furniture and interior design. Her journey began in Arizona, where she built the foundation of her professional life after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in interior design from Northern Arizona University in 1995. Early exposure to the field came through her mother, an interior designer who primarily worked in residential spaces. Guided by her mother’s encouragement to pursue the commercial side of the industry, Mrs. Stout found her niche in designing functional, uplifting environments for businesses.
Mrs. Stout’s professional path is marked by a series of progressive roles that reflect both her expertise and adaptability. Since 2023, she has excelled as senior designer at Hayden Interiors in Ripley, Tennessee. In this capacity, she specializes in space planning and specifications of commercial furniture, utilizing advanced tools such as CET 2D/3D computer programs and CAP pricing software. As the sole proprietor of her business, Mrs. Stout partners with dealerships nationwide to deliver tailored solutions for commercial clients.
From 2021 to 2023, Mrs. Stout held the position of designer at Kimiko Designs, where she was recognized as a “furniture guru.” Her responsibilities included collaborating with sales teams and providing technical expertise on commercial projects. Prior to this, she worked as senior designer at Workplace Furniture Inc. in Memphis from 2020 to 2021. The role required a significant commute but offered valuable experience in a new market following her relocation from Arizona.
Between 2019 and 2020, Mrs. Stout contributed her skills as senior designer at Goodmans Interior Structures in Phoenix, Arizona. She continued to refine her specialization in office environments during her tenure as senior designer at Faciliteq in Tempe from 2016 to 2019 and at WORKspaces in Phoenix from 2014 to 2016. Mrs. Stout previously found success as a project manager and designer at Interior Solutions from 2011 to 2014, project planner at Concert Architectural Interiors from 2007 to 2011, and senior project designer at Facilitec Inc. from 2005 to 2007.
Mrs. Stout was also active as a senior interior designer at Corporate Express between 2001 and 2005 and Business Resource Group from 2000 to 2001. She likewise thrived in interior designer positions at US Business Interiors between 1998 and 2000 and Reconditioned Systems Inc. from 1996 to 1998. Mrs. Stout began her career as a sales associate with Copenhagen-Denmark International Furniture from 1996 to 1997.
In addition to these professional milestones, Mrs. Stout gained early hands-on experience working for her mother’s design business and participating in a high school design showcase house project. She also completed a two-year internship at the Chicago Merchandise Mart, further broadening her understanding of the industry.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Stout has developed deep expertise in commercial space planning, furniture specification and AutoCAD design for office environments. Her connection with a Herman Miller dealer during college provided early exposure to panel systems and cubicle design—skills that have remained central to her work. She is known for building client trust by serving as a technical specialist rather than a salesperson, focusing on ergonomic layouts and furniture solutions that enhance productivity and well-being.
Mrs. Stout’s commitment to excellence is reflected not only in her technical abilities but also in her approach to design philosophy. She believes strongly in the transformative power of well-designed spaces, recognizing their impact on mood, productivity and overall quality of life. Her projects emphasize thoughtful layouts, inviting collaboration areas and comfortable furnishings that support both individual focus and team interaction.
Mrs. Stout’s dedication has been recognized through academic scholarships, including a vocational scholarship in interior design that supported her studies at Northern Arizona University. She is also a past member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
Education played a pivotal role in shaping Mrs. Stout’s career trajectory. Despite facing challenges related to an undiagnosed learning disability—later believed to be mild dyslexia—she leveraged strengths such as visual learning and hands-on application to excel academically and professionally. Her relentless drive was evident during her collegiate studies, where she balanced full-time coursework with two jobs while maintaining high standards for herself.
Community service has been an enduring aspect of Mrs. Stout’s life. While residing in Arizona, she volunteered extensively with the Salvation Army, participating in soup kitchens during Thanksgiving and supporting the Angel Tree program by adopting children and wrapping gifts. She also assisted local churches with programs serving the homeless by providing essentials such as socks and hats for overnight shelters.
After relocating to rural Tennessee, Mrs. Stout continued her commitment to giving back by donating toys for children at a local abuse center and supporting organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Tunnel to Towers Foundation. She remains dedicated to helping families in need during the holidays by adopting families when formal Angel Tree programs are unavailable locally—a tradition that has had lasting positive effects on recipients.
Mrs. Stout’s civic involvement extends beyond direct service; she has been recruited as a board member for a local Christian ministry in Arizona and volunteered at church day care centers. In Tennessee, she has opened her home to foster dogs, assisting local rescues with placing strays into permanent homes.
Looking toward the future, Mrs. Stout aims to be recognized as a go-to professional within the industry—valued for reliability, seamless collaboration and consistently high-quality results that align with client standards. As she continues operating independently without employees or forming an LLC for now, she remains focused on rebuilding financial stability while maintaining flexibility in both work and personal pursuits. Mrs. Stout’s legacy is defined by resilience, creativity and an unwavering commitment to improving lives through thoughtful design—qualities that have earned her respect among peers and clients alike throughout nearly 30 years of distinguished service in commercial interiors.
